A Volestedte Aelteste figurine, lace ballerina. Height 28 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There does not appear to be any repairs or restoration to this piece. The crinoline dress however has numerous losses, chips and damage as one would probably expect. There are far too many of these to even attempt to list. The nature of the design however does make them difficult to see. There are certainly small areas of loss. When the piece is viewed from the rear there is a more substantial loss to the underside edge of the skirt which has been poorly glued in and there are clearly substantial pieces of the skirt missing. There are also losses to the petals and leaves of the floral encrustations and in particular to the basket at the rear of the figure that supports the seat.
A pair of early 19th century Staffordshire figures "Anthony" and "Cleopatra". Each length approximately 31 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both figures have been extensively repaired. Anthony has had a broken neck which has been re-glued and overpainted. The top leg has also been repaired and overpainted as has the knee. There is a firing mark across the fingers of the left hand and various scratches and scuffs to the main body of the piece. Much of the overpainting may be covering old firing cracks however we are not certain of this. Cleopatra has also had restoration to the top arm above the hand and around the shoulder. There is also overpainting to the inside which is covering large hairline and firing cracks. This painting has discoloured on the outside of the piece particularly where the dress joins the base. In our opinion the interior overpainting is covering a large firing and hairline crack.
Three Royal Doulton figurines, "Patricia", "The Paisley Shawl" M26 and "Bridesmaid" H30. CONDITION REPORT: “The Paisley Shawl” has a hairline crack across the back of the cape running for approximately 3 cm. There is another 1 cm surface crack through the glaze on the front left hand side of the dress. “Patricia” is in good order with no issues. “Bridesmaid” is in generally good condition but does have a small 1 cm hairline crack running from the base centre hole through to the edge of the glaze. None of the figures have any losses or restoration.
