Provenance: By descent in the family of the sitter. Exhibited: Preston, Harris Museum and Art Gallery, 2000, Arthur William Devis, no.52 * Charlotte was the second of at least nine (possibly ten) children born to John Shore and his wife Charlotte (nee Cornish, 1759-1834). Provenance: Purchased directly from the artist by the owner's father, a friend of the artist and his wife, when he was Commanding Officer of the regiment. The pastel was executed c.1962 at the time of the regiment's amalgamation with the 9th Lancers. ++ Good condition
