A plain 18ct yellow gold wedding band (7.1gm), a 9ct gold sapphire and opal dress ring (3.5gm), a crossover ring with green and white stone, an Edwardian half pearl set open pendant on a fine 9ct gold neckchain, a 9ct gold mounted horseshoe and crop stock pin, a pair of 9ct gold pearl mounted earstuds and a celtic pattern pendant (7)
English School (early 19th Century) - Portraits of Mr and Mrs John Leader, he in a black jacket and white cravat, and Mrs Leader in a lace cap and black dress, three-quarter length, oil on canvas (a pair) 90 x 75 cm Provenance: Monks Hall, Syleham, Suffolk Mrs Leader: Appears to be unlined but with some sort of coating on the reverse of the canvas which is making it stiff. Two holes in the canvas with tears and associated paint loss. Paint layer is stable. Surface is very matte and dirty. Old varnish layer and surface dirt present. Looks like there has been a change to sitter's heair style during painting, leaving dark circles on her forehead. Frame is worn with losses to gilding. Mr Leader: Unlined canvas. Tear at bottom edge. Paint layer is stable. Darkened and dicoloured varnish which is uneven with drips. Layer of surface dirt. Frame is worn with losses to gilding.
C Long (Italian, 20th Century) - Portrait of Mrs Kitty Leader, wife of Colonel W Lewes, in a silk and lace dress, three-quarter length, wearing a rose and holding a rose, signed "C Long" to the reverse and with monogram "CL" lower right, oil on canvas,30 x 20 cm Provenance: Monks Hall, Syleham, Suffolk Under glass. Unlined canvas. Very dusty and dirty on reverse. Slight wrinkling to paint layer at lower left corner with a few localised losses and flaking. Otherwise in good condition. Frame is in poor condition with large losses to gilded surface. Glass is dirty inside and out.
A 1970s 'Jean Muir' grey wool coat/dress. Garment features a mandarin neck and flares from pin-tucks at the shoulders, side pockets and broad sleeves. Buttons through to hem, lovely quality wool fabric - unlined, size 12-14 nice condition. A further 70s beautifully cut 'Union Made' trouser suit in burnt orange, jacket and trousers lined. Jacket fastens with metallic poppers and features two side slit pockets. There is a small hole to the front of the jacket and the lining at the waistband of the trousers needs a stitch or two, in need of dry clean, otherwise nice vintage condition. (3)
Four vintage dresses. A 60s/70s 'Anokhi' cotton muslin maxi with tie belt size 10 - small tear to hem. A 70s 'Jacqueline de Baer' polka dot fitted dress with a bias cut swing skirt and matching belt. A black taffetta cocktail dress from 'Fenwicks' and a further black 70s dress made in India for Rene Derby. All fair condition, (4)
Three vintage dresses. A 1920s drop waist dress with embroidered applique to the bodice, cuffs and pockets. The dress fastens with hooks at the front bodice panel. There are some holes to this garment. Size 14 - 16. A 1940s violet crepe dress with bead and stitching details to the shoulders and pockets. Fabric has age spots. Size 14 approx. A 1950s bronze satin ballgown with sequin and stitching detail. Again some fabric fade. Approx size 12/14. (3)
An early 1900s ivory satin wedding dress, veil and wax hair ornaments. Beautiful bias cut dress with high ruched bodice and quilted full sleeves which taper to a point at the wrist and fasten with poppers. Short back opening at the neck with six covered buttons. The dress fabric is flocked throughout and there are one or two small holes to the skirt - mainly fabric is quite robust. A plaited silk cord to match. A very fine ivory veil with silk bow appliques to each corner - again one or two holes. Two wax flower tiaras in fair to good condition. (5)
1920s gold lame bias cut dress. Beautifully cut and panelled full length dress with gold circular motifs on a muted gold background. The dress has a wide v-shaped neckline with double twisted straps incorporating a contrasting lawn green silk chiffon. There is a half-tie belt at the back with similar green chiffon. Overall the dress is in good vintage condition with only one or two areas of fabric stress - no actual holes - zip and hook fasteners have been replaced. Approx size 8.
A beautiful 1950's/60's cocktail gown labelled 'London Town' Mayfair. The dress has a three layer skirt with the two outer layers creating a full puff ball skirt, the top fabric being decorated with pink flowers and black flocking. The garment has a fitted bodice with black velvet ribbon detailing and a pretty wide square neck. Labelled size 14 though more like a 10-12 (1)
