A 19th century chrysoberyl half hoop ring, the line of slightly graduated oval mixed-cut chrysoberyls in beaded pinched claw settings, gold mounted, together with a turquoise and half pearl dress ring, of scrolled design, stamped '18CT', (half pearls untested for origin), ring sizes N and Q respectively (2)First ring: facet edge abrasion, scuffs and nicks/chips to chrysoberyls. The edges of the setting have patchy wear and occasional claws may require re-tipping. The mount has several areas of porosity and creases to the metal, with areas of possible solder repair, and general surface wear throughout. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approximately 2.4gm. Second ring: Three of the cabochons have discoloured to brownish-greenish hues and all have surface wear, scuffs and chips. The half pearls also have some slight discolouration and surface wear. The mount also has surface wear, scuffs and nicks, with some thinning to the back of the shank, which has been re-sized. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approximately 2.5gm.

A 19th century diamond and gem set cluster dress ring, the cluster of vari-cut green gemstones and cushion-shaped old-cut diamonds in pinched collet and foiled closed-back settings, to an engraved hoop, gold and silver mounted, total diamond weight approximately 0.18ct, ring size N½The green gemstones are too small to test and have deep hues that are enhanced by the foil backing. The green stones have abrasion, scuffs and chips/fractures, and one of the outer stones has larger conchoidal chips. Diamonds are well matched and lively, all with yellowish/brownish tints, possibly due to discolouration of the foil backing. Some of the diamonds have chips/surface-reaching fractures. The mount has considerable wear and tarnishing, with patchy thinning and splits to the edges of the settings, commensurate for age and use. The back of the shank has worn a little thin and has several re-sizing joins. Metal standards are untested. Diameter of central cluster setting approximately 0.9cm. Gross weight approximately 2gm.

UV light reveals several retouches of the craquelure (including in the sitter's face) as well as several restorations: a diagonal tear in her right shoulder of approx.. 7 cm; a hook shaped tear running from halfway down the sky through the sitter's waist until the right edge of her arm, incorporating a central patch slightly below the blue sash, after which it runs up along the curve of her left shoulder, through to her headband and continuing horizontally through the sky; another hook shaped tear of approx. 8 cm below the blue sash.
