(35.5cm.) high (forehead broken and glue, under wig) - these dolls were marketed in a Paris department store catalogue for one or two years, as ‘Les Gosses de Poulbot’ and named Rintintin and Nenette in honour of the pet names used by the artist and his wife for each other. Poulbot, a French illustrator of the early 20th century, was forefront in raising funds for orphaned children of WWI

(51cm.) high (an inch long crack to back of head, which is believed to be a factory flaw, wig has had a moth attack, but mostly there, slight moth damage to clothes, shoes and socks and silk top a bit pershed) - the Gibson Girl was based on the illustrations of Charles Dana Gibson whose series of drawings depicted the society lady of the early 1900s.

(34.5cm.) high (no key, one of switch stuck, so operation not tested, but a key turns, hairline to side of head, some flaking to one hand, wig a little sparse) - purchased from Sothebys as lot 357 in June 1997

Schack' and dated '1960' l.r., oil on canvas 79 x 60cm Provenance: Purchased from the Kühlmann-Stumm family. It was acquired from the attics of Schloss Ramholz, Schlüchtern, Germany, June 2010. Condition ReportFramed: 94.5 x 76.5cm The paint has a very textured surface. There are some areas where the paint has been less thickly applied and the canvas texture is visible beneath but in our opinion this appears to be the intention of the artist, rather than a later issue with condition. Some minor losses but overall presents well. Not viewed under UV light. Please contact the department for a full report.

We believe the media used to execute the design is pencil and watercolour heightened with white over a printed base, with collage.
