A 1920/30's Velvet and Lame Harlequin Fancy Dress Outfit. This Fabulous fancy dress outfit was probably made for a high society party Ball. The outfit is all in one, the bodice is made from silk velvet lined tailored and fastened with hook and eyes, attached to heavy black silk and lame with gold lame spots and colourful flower motifs, pockets trimmed with ostrich feathers and furry pom poms. The legs have pom poms and popper fastenings to fit creating a truly thespian look. (1)

A 1997 haute couture 'Vivienne Westwood' Wedding Dress. This dress was specially made by Vivienne Westwood in 1997, to be worn in the snow. Zermatt, Switzerland was the location and the dress was worn with a ruby and diamond tiara once belonging to the Romanov family. The dress is made from a longhaired velvet, resembling fur. The velvet is made from silk rayon and has a shimmering sheen. Designed to mimic the 1930's, it has a corseted bodice, boned and structured to form a curvaceous silhouette. The corset is fastened at the back with a zip, hooks and eyes. The skirt is tightly fitted with a 19th century bustle at the side of the skirt, falling narrowly to almost a hobble and following through to a fishtail train. The deep red of the silk velvet cloak, with long trains flowing from the arms, in unison with the dress and fishtail, all contribute to the quirky non-conformist, rebelliousness that is so classically Vivienne Westwood. A 1930's White Satin Wedding Dress with a fine tulle and embroidered Veil. Bias cut, with lace cutwork tulips at the front. Empire line cut on the curve with sheering under the bosom and at the shoulder join with long fitted sleeves. There is an opening at the side with poppers and a small opening at the back of the dress with covered buttons. The fine tulle veil with embroidery work is beginning to break away. (2)

A Stunning 1930's Structured Cream Satin Wedding Dress. A bias cut satin dress, cut to figure hug, beautifully feminine and embellished with small pearls and gold thread creating a leaf motif over the shoulder. The dress opens at the side, (there must have been an undergarment!) The fabric gathers at a different level on the other side. Little fabric covered buttons, with a long side opening. Size 8/10

The bodice is simple and demure with off the shoulder boat neck. Fabulously full skirt with acres of silk and petticoats and a small train. Size 8.

This must have been made for a special occasion, there is no label, but the dress is simple and yet looks glorious, with the strapless top, slightly boned, beautiful silk ruffle standing up around the shoulders, the fabric is soft pleated, reminiscant of fortuny silk, falling down to a long swirling train. The colours from the floral chiffoned voluminous sleeves, with their ruffles and layers stand beautifully against the rich velvet pinafore, size 12. Two polka dot cotton dresses; with their empire line, slightly gathered and puffed sleeves closing tightly at the cuff, these are a classic example of 1970's couture. Size 10. (3)

Two 1975 Couture 'Rumak' formal day dress. Part of a debutant's collection, this beautiful heavy luxurious cotton dress has been carefully tailored to form a stiffened front bodice which has buttons at the front and is reminiscent of the Austrian dirndl. The sleeves are full length, made from cream chiffon and fasten at the cuffs with lace and ribbon trim. The skirt is very full and hangs beautifully with a lace and ribbon trim at the hem. A 1975 Couture 'Rumak' maxi dress. This beautiful heavy luxurious cotton maxi dress has been inspired by the Austrian/Bavarian dirndl traditional costume. The bodice has been beautifully tailored with ribbons running down the fabric creating the most divine full skirted dress. Size 10. (2)

1960s Vintage Mattli Evening Gown. Giuseppe (Jo) Mattli (1907 - 1982) was a Swiss fashion designer who worked mostly in London. His dresses for film stars in the 1950s were famous for their daring plunging necklines. This Evening Dress - embellished with diamante, revealing laced cutwork and lace sleeves is a fine example of his haute couture.

Wrapping around the waist with an open back and voluminous sleeves with layering and gathering around the full cuffs. Size 10. (Sadly moth has damaged the sleeves). A further 1970's 'Alice Pollock' Silk chiffon lilac and white floral dress with long sleeves and floaty trains. Size 10. (worn) (2)

A further Black 1960's 'Hardy Amies' Long dress with tape lace bodice, silk skirt and back metal zip. (needs cleaning) A further early 50's Green silk simple day dress with a broken back metal zip. A 1950's 'Eve Valere' Knightsbridge Party dress, made from paper taffeta with a boned corsetted bodice, halter neck and very full skirt with feather motifs. Size 8. (2) A 1940's Lace Party Frock. This pretty gold coloured lace dress with light blue tulle showing through with a pretty gathered light blue tulle at the neckline, lots of petticoats and an original belt. (Zip jammed & dress smells).

An Early 1940's Floral Crepe de Chine Evening Dress. This Beautiful Cream Crepe silk dress with colourful bouquets of flowers is gathered at the bust line with gathered straps. Gathered shawls of silk hanging and looping from front hip to back hip. Antique zip. Fully lined in creamy pink silk. (1)

A 1930/40's 'Jean Patou' Haute Couture Lace Dress numbered 28005. Hand made from a linen silk mix fabric. The panels have been cut to follow the line of the body with fine black silk Chantilly lace tiered horizontally around the dress. The neckline is trimmed with soft silk velvet which follows the line across the shoulder. There is a velvet ribbon trim around the base of the hem, which is held out with a panel of stiff gauze. The label is sewn in the inside of the dress half way down and the lining is no longer there. The dress is fastened with a line of hooks and eyes down the right hand side. There are a few tiny holes in the lace and a small nick in the fabric at the base of the opening to the dress. (1)

Three 1930's Floral Chiffon Tea Dresses. To include a stunning rose pink floral dress, bias cut and panelled to accentuate the figure, with tiers of chiffon creating a shawl line around the shoulders. The panels are diamond shape from the hips falling elegantly in folds of chiffon to the hem. There are a few holes which have been carefully mended and the flower motif in the front may have been put there to hide a hole. Size 8. A further ivory crepe chiffon dress with floral motifs, bias cut, panelled with tiered sleeves, a diamante belt. (small holes). And a further fine crepe de chine nightdress, bias cut with blue lace trimmings. (3)

Two 1940's Party Dresses. This 1940's Tulle and Red Satin Ballgown has been handmade with a shirred black tulle bodice following down to a gold embroidered hemline with appliqued red satin flowers over the red silk satin under dress. Size 6/8. A further halter-neck dress labelled 'Stefney' de luxe model', made from black crepe chiffon with a jacquard lame bodice, a wonderful full skirt fully petty-coated with a back metal zip (which loves going down but not up!). Two Stunning 1930's Bias Cut Evening Gowns. A black and orange velvet dress with curved panel inserts to follow the line of the body. The front is open and revealing with a small crystal button to fasten at the neck, a simple orange and black velvet collar, the sleeves are medieval-style lined in orange velvet. their is a bow at the front of the dress with fasteners creating a belt. Fasteners down the side. Size 8. A further Bias Cut elegant heavy black satin silk dress with black and white art deco beading at the front. The neckline falls to a slightly gathered front waist line and hangs gracefully to the ankle.(2)

Plenty of movement, colour and vibrance. A shawl neckline with scooped back to a metal zip and back fasteners. Size 8/10. A further Black crepe dress with a sequined bodice, diagonal panels and metal zip down the back. (too small to go on the model! Collectors piece). (2)
