Sword: A fine German 19th century court dress sword; Top of blade marked 'M. NEUMANN HOFLIEFERANT BERLIN' (purveyor to the Court of Berlin). Blade 32" of pipe back form with gilt and blued decoration. Ornate hilt in gilt brass with heraldic shield (3 birds and a leek?). Wirebound fishskin grip. Backstrap with ornate decoration, large lions head pommel with ruby? eyes. In its polished steel scabbard with rust patination A lovely sword and fine example of the German swordsmith art.
Dirk: A circa 1800s Naval Officers dress dirk. Plain curved blade 18" top flat marked by the maker J & R MOLE. Brass mounts with lions head pommel. Ribbed Ivory (?) hilt. In its brass mounted leather scabbard (mounts good, leather partly a/f). Worn condition overall, grip assembly a little loose.
A World War Two (WWII) Third Reich SS officer's dress sword (SS-Degan). With blade marked "Pet.Dan Krebs Solingen". Circa. 1935 -1944 . This sword has a single edged blade 84cm in length. Silver plated hilt with bullion-wired grip. Complete with nickel-plated hilt-guard, and having knotted wired short ribboned sash with macramé acorn finial, together with original black japanned steel sheath, ornamented nickel-plated decorative mount to top. Est £700 - £800
1st millennium AD. A dress pin with tapering shaft and openwork head; the shaft with rilled herringbone pattern to the upper third; the head formed as a sitting bird surmounted by a second bird with spread wings, both with punched-point detailing. 8.07 grams, 12 cm (5). Private collection, London, UK; formed in the 1950s. Fine condition.

A mixed group comprising: a plano-convex stone gaming counter; a discoid weight; a dress pin with ribbed head; a dress pin with biconical head; a belt plaque with beast-head to each end. 46 grams total, 21-65mm (3/4 - 2 1/2). Property of an American collector; acquired 1980-2000. [5, No Reserve] Fine condition.

An Edwardian JH Gosling & Sons, Richmond, Surrey black satin evening dress heavily beaded and sequinned to front and back with matching evening coat Note: J.H. Gosling's sons and grandsons succeeded him in the business throughout the 19th century. The last links with the founder's family were severed with the deaths of Matthew Gosling and Herbert Gosling at the end of the 19th century. The manager at the time was Arthur Snow and his son, Ernest Snow, succeeded him at the store. Company history In October 1795, J.H. Gosling founded a drapery store at 80 George Street, Richmond, London. As trade increased, 75, 76, 77, 78 and 79 George Street were incorporated into the store. In April 1947, Gosling & Sons Ltd was acquired by John Barker & Co Ltd, department store retailers, of London. The store was badly damaged by fire in 1962 and demolished in 1968. The company was officially liquidated in 1974.
