TWO CIRCA 1900 NAVAL OFFICER'S DRESS SWORDS, London and Liverpool makers, the Langdon & Sons, Liverpool example with gilt brass hilt and lion's head pommel, wire bound shagreen grip and bullion knot, the guard with crowned fouled anchor and RNR and folding scabbard lock, 79 cms near straight blade, maker's mark and decoration with repeated RNR and fouled anchor (worn and very pitted) in a non-matching leather scabbard with brass mounts marked 'Pritchett, London', the other with wire bound fish skin grip, folding scabbard lock and bullion knot, the guard with fouled crowned anchor, the blade marked 'Kenny, Little Britain, London' and etched decoration to blade, 78.5 cms near straight blade with arrow top marking in a leather scabbard with brass mounts (Provenance: formerly the property of Captain Thomas Pritchard with a copy photograph of the same seated with one of the swords in hand along with a printed copy of his memoirs from 1893 at the age of fifteen until his death in 1944 whilst interned in Stanley Camp during the Second World War)
