BRU Puppenautomat, Ende 19. Jh. Mädchen am Spinnrad stehend, im Nacken gemarkt "BRU", Porzellankurbelkopf, festsitzende, blaue Glasaugen, geschlossener Mund in Herzform, durchstochene Ohrlöcher, blonde Perücke (nur noch stellenweise erhalten). Der Körper besteht aus einem Holzgestell (tlw. mit Watte umwickelt), die Hände aus Porzellan. Die helle Baumwollkleidung ist ergänzt, der Körper in Kleid und Unterhosen eingenäht. Die Puppe steht auf einem quadratischen, mit grünem Samt überzogenem Podest. Das Musikwerk spielt eine Melodie beim Drehen des eingesteckten Schlüssels und die Puppe hebt beide Arme nach oben und bewegt den Kopf nach links. Der Spinnfaden war in die Handfläche geklebt, hängt nun lose. Eine Handfläche mit Kleberesten und Fadenrückständen, die Andere mit einem kl. Brandriss. Klebereste an der Perücke, Kinn min. berieben, (ähnelt einem Grübchen), Alters- bzw. Lagerspuren. H 40 cm (mit Sockel).| BRU doll machine, late 19th century, Girl standing at the spinning wheel, marked "BRU" on the back of her neck, porcelain crank head, fixed blue glass eyes, closed heart-shaped mouth, pierced ears, blonde wig (only partially preserved). The body consists of a wooden frame (partly wrapped with cotton wool), the hands are made of porcelain. The light cotton clothing is supplemented, the body is sewn into the dress and underpants. The doll stands on a square pedestal covered with green velvet. The musical mechanism plays a melody when the inserted key is turned and the doll raises both arms and moves its head to the left. The thread was stuck in the palm of the hand, now it hangs loose. A palm with glue residue and thread residue, the other with a small fire crack. Glue residue on the wig, chin slightly rubbed (similar to a dimple), signs of age and storage. H 40 cm (with base).

Unknown producer, ca. 1900. Nice old dress, lacks of condition.
ANN MACBETH (BRITISH 1875-1948) VERY PROBABLY A STUDY OF ISADORA DUNCAN Gouache and charcoal, signed and dated 1912, 39 x 27cm (15.25 x 10.5") Inscribed with the Artist's address on the backing board Ann Macbeth belonged to the group of women artists and designers active in Glasgow in the late 19th and early 20th century, known as the Glasgow Girls. These remarkable women had attended the Glasgow School of Art and were central to the development of The Glasgow Style. After graduating from the Glasgow School of Art, Ann Macbeth became a member of staff, teaching embroidery, book binding, metalwork and ceramics; in 1908, she took over from Jessie Newbery as head of the department of embroidery and during this time produced important publications. She was a key part of the suffragette movement and was involved in the design and embroidery of their banners. She was also a skilled watercolourist and exhibited nationally and internationally. Many of her works are in Glasgow Museums? collections, and in 2018, her ceramics and embroideries were exhibited at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, in their exhibition ?Making The Glasgow Style?. Condition Report:On close inspection there is what appears to be a vertical repair to the paper, approximately 2 centimetres in length, in proximity to the lower left corner area, the paper is generally slightly uneven in appearance, a few small spots of foxing observed and there are two small cracks in the thick white pigment located upper right area of the torso on the on the dress.
