A George VI Naval Officer's dress sword. The brass hilt with folding side guard and fishskin grip, in a brass mounted leather scabbard, length 91cm, The blade rusted and pitted. The gilt to the brass fittings on the scabbard are rubbed with some areas of verdigris, the locket is loose, length of the scabbard 76.5cm. Additional images on Lay's website.
A lace over chiffon cape with maribou trim circa 1922. By Margret Marks of Knightsbridge, together with a first quarter of the 20th century sequined and bead dress over chiffon, an opera coat silk outer velvet collar and cuffs and satin lining with scalloped hem made by Nibblet and a vintage leather bound suitcase.Includes a photograph of an early 20th century wedding portrait, in which the lady is seen wearing the same Margret Marks cape.Reputedly owned by Veronica Rushworth-Lund, the inspiration for Pigglet in the Winnie the Pooh books, The Nibbet opera coat had stains on the velvet collar, pulled thread on one of the cuffs, and some small areas of staining but otherwise in remarkable condition. The sequined and bead dress shoulder lining is in a fragile condition with tears and holes, also with small holes in the over netting and some small losses to the sequins. The lace cape is shedding some of the maribou feathers but is otherwise in good condition. Additional images on Lay's website.

AMENDED DESCRIPTION - A late 19th to early 20th Century Meissen Cabaret set in the manner of Teniers or Kaufmann, the set comprising oval tray with fluted border and integral handles, coffee pot, covered sucrier, cream jug, two split handled cups and one saucer, all hand painted with Watteauesque scenes of figures in period dress to landscape settings within pink scale ground with floral and gilt highlights, underglaze blue crossed sword mark.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - Please note that this set in not entirely of Meissen porcelain; the tray and the coffee pot are by Potschappel Carl Thieme (Dresden).The pieces that are of Meissen porcelain all carry cancelled crossed swords and in this case mean that they are outside decorated, rather than decorated at the factory.Essentially the pieces were acquired by an independent decorator as blanks and decorated coherently to look like an original set.

A group of five World War Two medals awarded to FG.Off J.F Walters (Joseph Frank Veijopek 1919-1997) to include Malaya general service medal, 1939/45 medal, 1939/45 Defence medal, Air Crew Europe star, 1939/45 star and miniatures, also Czech 1939/45 scouts cross medal, three framed medals of the Czech, French and Royal Airforce, also military fob watch mark IV No 1691, other watches, dog tag, various silk maps and various log books while with the Czech air force 1938/9, French Airforce 1939, log book with 32 squadron 1940-42 etc, coloured photographs and ephemera, together with his RAF officer's dress uniform with bar and wings. (qty) NB - Contrary to popular myth and corrected by the entry in FO Walters log book, Squadron Leader Wilfred Duncan did not fly in the last sortie where a Spitfire fired its guns in anger. On New Years Day 1951 Flight Officer Walters in NH850/Z flew in the raid on Kota Tinggi accompanied by Flt Officer Keogh and Flight Officer JC Smith as WDS was unfit to fly due to the previous night celebrations, so his plane was piloted by FO Walters.

Hays' granddaughter, who died at age 11. The other depicts a figure wearing a black dress decorated with white lace. This is B.S.
