CIRCLE OF GEORGE ROMNEY (1734-1802) Portrait of a Lady, traditionally identified as Elizabeth, Countess of Craven (1750-1828) quarter-length, wearing a green dress a terrace beyond oil on canvas 30 1/2 x 25 1/2in (77.7 x 65.6cm) Elizabeth, Countess of Craven, was a noted author , playwright and traveller. She mixed in literary circles and knew Samuel Johnson and Horace Walpole who published some of her plays. In 1783 she caused a scandal by abandoning her husband to go travelling in Italy, eastern Europe and the Near East. She later married and returned to England with a German Prince, the Margrave of Anspach. She was painted by a number of artists of the time, including Ozias Humphry and George Romney, R.A.

AGOST ELEK CANZI (1813-1866) Portrait of a Lady, seated three-quarter length, wearing a white dress, and blue wrap inscribed and dated `Canzi, Paris, 1834` oil on panel 12 x 9 1/4in (30.5 x 23.5cm) A label on the reverse bears an inscription identifying the sitter as` Mrs Mackintosh, `daughter of Mr and Mrs Mackintosh`. An Austrian by birth, Canzi was studying in Paris under Ingres in 1834. Later he worked in Stuttgart and Vienna, before moving to Budapest.
AFTER SIR PETER LELY (1618-1680) Portrait of Letitia Smith, Lady Robartes, later Countess of Radnor ( ,c.1630-1714) seated three-quarter length wearing a pale grey taffeta dress, and blue robes, adorned with pearls, with a golden brown shoulder shawl, a red burgundy curtain beyond oil on canvas 48 x 40in (122.1 x 101.6cm) The sitter was the daughter of Sir John Smith of Bidborough, Kent. She married in 1646/7 as his second wife John Robartes, 1st Earl of Radnor (1606-1685), Speaker of the House of Lords and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. Several other portraits of the sitter are recorded .A portrait of her in an identical pose by Sir Peter Lely and studio is at Lanhydrock, Cornwall. Other versions are known at Weston Park, Shropshire ; Cummer Art Gallery, Jacksonville, Florida ; and in the collection of the Earl of Dunraven.
A silver cased open-faced gentleman`s pocket watch, the gilt fusee movement with a lever escapement, detailed to the balance cock `Patent` and to the back plate `No 1609`, with a gilt dust cover, the inner case London 1841, the outer case London 1886, the enamelled dial with Roman numerals, together with a base metal cased keyless wind open-faced dress watch, and a 9ct gold and blue enamelled cruciform fob medal detailed `Polytechnic Associate`, fitted to a base metal chain.
