A Great War DSO group of five Orders and medals, to Lt. Colonel and Bat. Col. R T Pemberton, whose career spanned both World Wars; DSO, Geo V, silver-gilt and enamel, 1914-15 star (Major R. T. Pemberton. A.S.C.), War and Victory medals (Major), oak leaf for MiD; Territorial Decoration; with dress miniatures; DSO and TD in Garrard cases of issue; likewise all miniatures in Garrard cases of issue. Unworn, much as issued. DSO, London Gazette, 1 January, 1917. Twice mentioned in Despatches. Pemberton (b. 1888), enlisted in the 1st Batt. South Staffs. Regiment in 1906, transferring to the 8th Batt. R. Warwicks, as a Sergeant and commissioned in 1910. He was mobilized with the rank of Captain on 4 August, 1914 and promoted Major in 1915. His career ended at the age of 60 with the rank of Lt. Colonel and Bat. Col. in the Royal Army Service Corps
