A Diamond Dress Ring, the tapering dome pavé set with round brilliant cut diamonds, total estimated diamond weight 3.00 carat approximately, finger size M1/2 see illustration . The ring is in good condition. It is stamped '750', valued as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour F/G, clarity VS1/VS2. The dome measures 1.5cm wide by 1cm tall. Gross weight 12.1 grams. Condition Report made 12th September 2018.
An Unusual Multi-Gemstone Dress Ring, three round cabochon rubies and a round cabochon emerald in rubbed over settings, to a plaque of round cut sapphires and round brilliant cut diamonds, to a reeded shank, total estimated diamond weight 0.35 carat approximately, finger size S1/2 see illustration . The ring is in good condition. It is stamped '750', valued as gold. It is stamped 'BREECE'. The head measures 3cm by 2cm. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour G/H, clarity VS1/VS2. Gross weight 9.3 grams. Condition Report made 31st August 2018.
South American School / Spanish School (19th century), Large oil on canvas,Half length portrait of a Hespanic lady, possibly in mourning, wearing an elaborate European dress and adorned with gold jewellery, Signed indistinctly lower right and dated '1873', 108cm x 92cm,Later gilt wood frame(Restored) (at fault)Provenance: Ex-lot 766 Philips Chester (Sale Number C1607) - Three day fine sale 9th - 11th September 1998 CONDITION REPORT: The painting has been allowed to fall into a poor state of repair and then received some restoration but remains in a poor condition. The canvas is lightly grubby throughout, has a craqueleur throughout and degrading to the varnish and perhaps some of the paint. There may have been some repainting. There are some raised areas visible. The left hand of the sitter does not appear to have been repainted but is poorly executed compared to the rest of the portrait. There are later strips attached to both long edges of the canvas - these appear to have been stapled down from the front. The painting has been relined and there are modern wooden batons visible on the back. ATTENTION WILL BE NEEDED.
