A William IV / early Victorian Royal Irish Dragoon Guards full dress accoutrement and regalia group, comprising sabretache, waist belt and straps, shoulder belt and pouch, and a cased set of epaulettes with two sword knots, the sabretache and shoulder belt pouch complete with field service covers, some elements bearing the inscribed name J Andrews. Provenance. The group is accompanied by an old typewritten biography of Captain John Andrews, and related correspondence from the Public Record Office dated 1966. An extract from the latter reads "Enlisted Corporal at Birmingham, 17th August 1807, promoted Corporal in Spain, 21st May 1813, Sergeant in Ireland 25th December 1815, appointed Paymaster Sergeant 12th November 1816, commissioned Quartermaster 20th June 1834, placed on half pay 3rd October 1848, promoted Honorary Captain 18th July 1862, died 6th June 1871." Thence by descent to the vendor.
