An unusual silver 925 figural pendant in the form of Goldilocks having fully articulated joints blue stone eyes and coloured stones to her dress with a silver 925 snake link necklace chain with lobster claw clasp. Chain measures 16 inches, Goldilocks measures 3cms high and the total weight is 6.9 grams.
A fine Vic officer’s full dress embroidered sabretache of the 21st Hussars (worn until 1897, when the regiment became Lancers) of French grey cloth, gilt lace border with white central stripe, the centre embroidered with crowned VR cypher and laurel wreath surrounding a circle with “21/H”, blue leather backing and pouch. VGC Note: The sabretache of Sir Hugh Bateman Protheroe Smith, OBE, purchased at the sale of his house at Pentowan, Gyllyngvas, Falmouth Bay, Cornwall in 1962. Sir Hugh was commissioned in The Dorset Regt in 1895 and transferred to the 21st Lancers in 1897. The following year he took part in the Nile Expedition and the Battle of Omdurman. He served in S Africa 1899-1900 (Queens medal with 5 clasps) and in Somaliland 1903-04, before being appointed Commanding Officer, Military Mounted Police, Egypt in 1905 where he remained until retiring from the army in 1909. Back in his native Cornwall his later career included a period as Chief Constable for which he received a Knighthood in 1928. Further details with lot.
A ruby and diamond split shoulder claw-set dress ring. The five eight-cut diamonds: colour H/I, clarity P1/P2 (assessed), each 1mm x 1mm x 1mm. The eleven Marquise-cut rubies: colour pink (assessed), 3.5mm x 1.7mm x 1.5mm. Size: M 1/2. Tested for 9ct gold (no date). Gross weight 2.6 g with insurance valuation.
