A George VI artillery officer's dress sword with shagreen grip, open scrolling knuckle guard, engraved blade and leather scabbard, length 101cm. CONDITION REPORT: Blade with some pitting/scratches, some small areas of corrosion to back, and some rubbing to the detail, hilt with general wear, shagreen faded in areas but otherwise ok, scabbard shows wear with some splits to top.
A Japanese Meiji period carved ivory okimono depicting a robed gentleman with net and tortoise, signed, no.15110 with red seal mark to base, height 14.5cm, also three further early 20th century carved ivory figures and group depicting father and child, a theatre/processional dancer with fan and a European gentleman in 17th century style dress, all unsigned (4). CONDITION REPORT: Signed example has an item missing to his back, further nibble to the sleeve and losses to the stick. Father and son figure is loose on base, loss to father's rope and child's stick. Actor/dancer has split to head and losses to thumbs, reglued to base, base with crack. Western style figure is cracked throughout, loss to left foot, left hand may also have been off and reattached.
A 19th century wax headed doll with blonde wig, fixed brown glass eyes and traces of painted mouth, wax upper section above stuffed body, composition hands and stuffed cloth feet, dressed in brown velvet and green fabric dress with lace collar, unmarked, length 52cm. CONDITION REPORT: Doll has major gouge to right cheek where surface of wax has been lost, further crack spreading from right eye to ear and numerous nicks and gouges to face, neck and upper section, arm joints loose with losses to finish particularly at fingers, feet frayed at bottom joints, clothes generally soiled and tired, wig coming up to left hand side, traces of glue and discolouration throughout.
An early 20th century baby girl doll, the celluloid head with open/close glass eyes, painted features and two lower teeth, on jointed composition body and dressed in lace bonnet and white fabric dress both with floral detail, stamped to back of neck with numbers, probably German, length approx 30.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Eyelids have deteriorated, joints loose, general surface wear throughout.
A mid-20th century Eegee type doll, the rubberized type head with blonde hair, open/close eyes and painted closed mouth, jointed composition body, wearing cream and floral dress with woolen cardigan and booties, with painted fingernails and removable voice/sound box to stomach, length approx 54cm. CONDITION REPORT: Hair appears to have been cut, head is of a material that can be squeezed, voice box is not functional, general wear throughout.
Two mid-20th century Pedigree celluloid dolls both with jointed limbs, open/close eyes and open mouths with painted lips and dressed in nightgowns, one with blonde wig and two upper teeth, length of larger approx 56cm, also to include an unmarked doll with painted features and articulated limbs in gold night dress and skirt (3). CONDITION REPORT: One eye of smaller Pedigree (af), both with surface dirt and wear, some limbs loose, some pronounced scratches to bodies, unmarked doll with wear throughout, head loose, all with some soiling to clothes.
Two 1960/70s Sasha dolls, one with blonde hair and blue eyes wearing a brown corduroy dress and navy shoes, the second with brown hair and brown eyes wearing a cloth gingham dress and white sandals, length of both approx 42cm, both with later associated straw hats (2). CONDITION REPORT: Both heads loose/floppy on necks, brunette hair exposed at roots, will probably need replacing, blond slightly exposed, brunette doll's legs quite loose, not properly jointed, blonde's legs also looser than those in previous lot, some minor scratches, indents and discolouration, clothes slightly stained.
