Two Jumeau bebe sisters size 7 and 8, the larger a Tete Jumeau size 8 with fixed brown glass eyes, heavy brown brow, open mouth with top row of teeth, pierced ears, brown plaited hair wig on cork pate, jointed papier-mache body, original white ribbed cotton dress and jacket with pale blue embroidered trim, cotton underclothes and kid boots -19in. (48.5cm.) high (large chip around left ear piercing hole); and the other just impressed 7 with fixed blue glass eyes, heavy brown brow, open mouth with top row of teeth, pierced ears, black hair wig on cork pate, jointed papier-mache body, red tartan dress, white cotton underclothes and kid boots -18in. (46cm.) high (broken and glued across forehead, mainly hidden under fringe and eyes have become unstuck), both dolls have a matching mushroom silk plush coat and matching hat with brown silk trim and a pair of gloves, the larger doll also has a green tartan dress and gilt metal toy fob watch; also included is a bone hair brush and comb, two silvered clothes brushes and a flannel; the head of the second doll was stuffed with a 1903 page from The Sphere, a periodical featuring a Cadbury’s advertisement - the childhood toys of Christabel Browning (b.1897) and her sister Eileen Browning (b.1896)
