A gouache on paper of a dancer wearing the Banana Dance costume by Dodo Burgner, annotated in pen, the reverse with a pencil preparatory drawing, and six other watercolour designs unsigned sheet 31 x 24cm.The woman in the Banana Dance dress is probably a portrait of Josephine Baker. In 1928 Dodo produced a design for Ulk of a woman with her scottie dog staring up in awe at a poster of Josephine Baker in Revue dressed in the infamous banana costume.
