A Russian Parcel-Gilt Silver Wager-Cup, by Pavel Fedorovich Sasikov, St Petersburg, 1862, Assay Master Edward Brandenburg, formed as a female figure in traditional Russian costume and wearing a kokoshnik , the bodice tightened at the waist and with flowing dress finely chased and engraved with foliage and flowers on a matted ground, holding aloft two grotesque-capped brackets which support the pivoting cup, with a copy of a letter from Garrard relating to the present cup and quoting Geoffrey Munn, 26.5cm high, 18oz 10dwt (2) . Fully marked on the back of the skirt. The cup with part marks underneath. The marks are clear, though with some wear to those on the cup. In generally good condition with fine etching on the skirt and good quality casting. The pivoting cup does not sit level, though there is no obvious bruise to the arms.
A Victorian Parcel-Gilt Silver Wager-Cup, by Thomas Henry Francis and Frederick Francis, London, 1862, formed as a female figure in traditional Russian costume and wearing a kokoshnik , the bodice tightened at the waist and with flowing dress finely chased and engraved with foliage and flowers on a matted ground, holding aloft two grotesque-capped brackets which support the pivoting cup, 27cm high, 18oz Provenance: with Garrard, 112 Regent Street, London, February 1979 where acquired by the present owner. . Fully marked on the back of the skirt. Part marked on the bottom of the pivoting cup. There is some minor wear to the marks, though each is still legible. There is some surface scratching and wear. The cup doesn't sit exactly level.

An impressive and important Bristol related personal archive of items relating to ex-Lord Mayor Of Bristol Walter W. Jenkins (Mayor in 1973). Comprising:- An array of original Mayoral Dress items, including a pair of believed Edwardian leather and bullionware gauntlets / gloves (likely handed down from Mayor to Mayor), Jenkins' Feathered Tricorn Hat, his Court Shoes with steel buckles and a silk cuff. An accompanying copy of a note implies that many of these items were quite likely handed down to Jenkins by the previous Mayor, or that Jenkins was to purchase them separately. An important part of Bristol history.- An official presentation album comes embossed to the front cover ' The Lord Mayor Of Bristol 1973-74 ' with crest, the inside reading ' Presented With The Compliments Of Bristol United Press Ltd '. Photographs within are largely official press photographs from the period (some candid images included), and include; photos of Jenkins in official dress, receiving the chain of office, meetings with the Mayor of Bristol (New York), various official visits and processions, celebrations surrounding 'Bristol 600', photos from Bristol's Water Festival, an appearance on ' Mr & Mrs ', visit of The Queen to Bristol in August 1973, visit of Prince Charles in October 1973, various Police events and many others. Many annotated. - A similar photograph album, presented to Jenkins by Freeman Fox & Partners, which is entirely dedicated to the visit from Queen Elizabeth in 1973. Largely official press images, towards the end of the album are several candid 'never before seen' photographs in colour. A fascinating album. - Two presentation framed and glazed notices thanking Walter W. Jenkins and Mrs Glenys Jenkins for their service. Officially headed ' Extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the Council of the City and County of Bristol at their Meeting held on the 31st day of March 1974 '. Both measure approx; 38cm x 27cm. - A signed copy of ' Government Of Bristol 1373-1973 ' Bristol 600 celebrations book, signed by Jenkins. An incredibly rare and historically important part of Bristol's history. Rare.
