Thomas Hand (British, 1771-1804) - Figures in a Woodland Landscape, oil on canvas, 29 x 35 cm The thinner passages of paint in the background of the painting show signs of wear and abrasion. Examined under ultraviolet light small, scattered areas of retouching are visible. These are mainly present in the background covering wear but are also present in the dress of the figures. Retouching is present across the surface of the painting but are small touches rather than wholesale overpaint and are well matched to the surrounding, original paint.
A gold dress ring set of citrine and two other gold dress rings. Condition report: clip to one part of dress clip missing, one sprung, pin with safety catch working but stiff, no stones missing from clips, bracelet or earring. Bracelet also Trifari earring would seem to be also but mark not clear.
A collection of vintage children's fancy dress costumes, dating from 1910-14, worn by the Singer children at the Mansion House Parties, their father, Horace D. Singer was Alderman of the City of London Freeman of the Skinners Company.
