* A Teddy Tinling white cotton tennis dress, supplied by Brilkie, 68 Oxford Street, London, c. 1960-64, a sleeveless, button-up cotton dress, together with a 1950s 100% terylene pleated tennis dress by Perfit Sports Garments, with belt and side-zip, both in excellent condition (with associated framed advert.) Teddy Tinling (1910-1990) famed coutrier of women's tennis, gave up designing when women abandoned one-piece outfits for separates in the late 1970s. (2)

A German Krieges Marine Officers dress sword (official issue), the blade inscribed Alcoso Saligen, the brass hilt with cast lions head, ivorene wire bound grip and leaf chased guard, with hinged panel cast with an anchor, official Nazi issue and markings with no. 2666, brass mounted leather scabbard inscribed 'Otoos Kretschmer' and 'no. 2666'. 3ft. 4in. (1.02m.) long. * Kapitan Launtant Otto Kretschmer, 'Silent Otto', of the North Atlantic, achieved ledgendry status as captain of U-99, winning the Knights Cross, Oakleaves and Swords before capture in 1941 by H.M.S Walker and spending the remainder of the war in captivity.

DECORATED BRIDE'S BOX. Bentwood with laced seams and original paint. Dark ivory with blue flowers and a blue lid that has a woman in colonial dress and a man in a tall hat dressed as a traveler. The lid edge has German text. Wear, some edge damage and the lid has an age split. Ex Plach Collection. 12 x 18. 8h.
OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING. Portrait of a seated girl wearing a red dress. She has brown eyes and wears a gold necklace and earrings. An old paper label on the back identifies her as Caroline Darrow, painted about 1820-30.... Her family moved to Buffalo (New York) around 1850 and later descendants lived in New Jersey. Rebacked and restored. 25h. 21 1/4w. Gilt frame has some wear and edge damage. 30h. 26w.
OIL PAINTING OF A GIRL. By William Prior. Portrait on canvas of a girl in a mustard yellow dress, holding pink flowers. The canvas is backed with a wooden board, an additional backing board covers the frame and has a penciled notation Painted by Wm. M. Prior July 7th, 1855 in New Bedford. Additional notes appear to be prices. A few minor touch ups. 18h. 14w. Gilt frame has gold repaint. 22 1/4h. 18 1/4w. Ex George Considine.
OIL PAINTING. Possibly by the Prior-Hamblen School and found in the Boston area. Full-length portrait on cardboard of a woman seated at a mahogany table with red drapery and yellow sash in the background. She wears an elaborate lace and red ribbon bonnet, gold jewelry and a blue dress with leg-o'-mutton sleeves. In her hand is a red rose. A penciled note partially reads Watts 4 Centre St. Crease, minor edge damage and some surface wear. Glued along the top edge. 9 3/8h. 7 1/2w. Curly maple veneer frame with corner blocks. 11 3/4h. 9 5/8w.

Providence (Rhode Island?) is penciled on the stretcher. Cleaned and revarnished with areas of repaint. 19 5/8h. 14 7/8w. Gilt frame has some wear. 23 3/4h. 19 1/8w.
SAMPLER. Pennsylvania German. Shades of blue, yellow, gold, pink, brown and green silk on linen. Randomly placed, highly detailed motifs include checkered crowns, eight-point stars, flowers in handled urns, rampant lions, birds, chickens and a couple in late 18th Century dress standing beside a tea table. They are flanked by ladderback chairs and small begging cats/dogs. For similar samplers see Betty Ring's Girlhood Embroidery, Vol. 2. Great colors on clean background. Empty row at top appears to have had the stitches removed. Modern gold frame. 14w. 17h.
WATERCOLOR ON PAPER. Portrait of a girl seated under a tree with her pet cat on her lap. Miniaturist detail to the face with less detail elsewhere. She wears a red dress with a coral bead necklace and matching red shoes. The grey tabby is quite content. Light stain. 8 1/8h. 7 1/8w. Gilt frame has wear. 10 1/2h. 9 1/2w.
TALL CASE CLOCK. English. Quarter sawed oak case with bracket feet, fluted quarter columns on inlaid plinths with additional fluted details on frieze and bonnet columns. Molded gooseneck cornice with embossed metal rosettes. Brass works has second hand and calendar movement. Painted metal face with floral spandrels topped with scene of lady in flowing dress holding a sickle. Rich color and mellow finish. Has weights, pendulum and winder. Minor paint flaking. Age splits in base with some replacements. 81h.
