Interesting group of items related to William Hayes (1807 - 1879) of Halesowen, Worcestershire. He served with the Worcestershire Volunteer Rifles. Included in the lot is a regimentally marked Enfield socket bayonet stamped V.Wc. 6.36., a Victorian Worcestershire Rifles Helmet plate, silver dress whistle, another dress whistle, regimental badge, framed photograph of the Rifles including Hayes and both his and his daughter's passports. A very interesting group, offered by family decent.
Fine quality and scarce William IV Cavalry Officers' silver presentation sword with ornate cast and chased silver gothic hilt with acorn decoration and guard with crowned WRIV cipher, diced ivory grip, pipe back blade with traces of blued and gilt decoration signed S.Lambert 236 Regent St. London, finely etched with trophies of arms, crowned WRIV cipher, cavalry Officer on horse and floral scrollwork with presentation inscription 'This sword with dress belt, sabretache & cartouch box are presented to Major Mules by the non-commissioned officers and privates of the East Devon Volunteer Cavalry in testimonial of their respect and esteem for him as their commanding officer; for his general urbanity & gentlemany like conduct towards them and as a tribute, justly due to him, for the zeal he has manifested, in advancing the efficiency and discipline of the corps 1834'. The silver scabbard with ornate repousse floral scroll decoration down its entire length and Mules coat of arms, two ornate cast dragon heads and cornucopia suspension rings (Hallmarked London 1833, maker WE). The blade 89cm long, the sword 107cm overall. Sold with the silver mounted presentation crossbelt pouch (cartouch box) mentioned in the presentation inscription with gilt crown badge and silver slings (H.M. London 1833) with silver presentation plaque to the interior with shortened version of the sword inscription dated 1834. Ivory exemption APHA Ref: KC6NGQVEProvenance: Sold by a descendent of Major Philip Mules ( 1785-1857) Silver hilt and scabbard in good order with no apparent dents or damage or heavy cleaning wear. The blade is worn and has sadly lost most of its blued and gilt decoration although the inscription and etched decoration is still legible . There is some pitting particualy near the point.The scabbard is missing its internal batterns so is a loose fit . Please see the extra images
V bust length portrait of the Vice Admiral in military dress with medals, his arms folded across his chest, oil on canvas, 71 x 58cm oval, in giltwood and gesso frame, 99.5 x 85.5cm over all. Some restoration. Handwritten label verso naming his wife as Princess Irina Cantacuzene? and other somewhat illegible family information. Thomasset was Flag Officer on Devastation in 1882.

Emile Jumeau c 1883 French antique bisque head 15” doll Doll, Au Nain Bleu, Paris.A magnificent Bisque head socket doll, marked E6J with artist check marks as shown;with brown paperweight inset eyes , spiral iris, eyeliner,, Painted lashes, Bru stroke brows , accented nostrils, closed mouth in a vintage rose coral shade with accented tips,, pierced ears with the lavender earrings and , original wig, cork pate and hair golden clear nailed in to the cork pate, figured hair band. The body is all original and marked Medaille D,Or Paris, in blue , tightly string with coil spring head and all other limbs tightly articulated,neat limbs with fixed wrists . The chemise dress ,shoes( some age wear on left shoe) and socks are original to the doll, and marked as shown with the original labels from Au Nain Bleu , rue de cappuccine-the finest Parisian doll shop in late Victorian times and ultra rare remains of labels .Head condition; please see lamp test photographs to satisfy it is in the condition you wish , on now removed wig-see images. The Anthony James London Distinction watch has a blue dial and navy blue leather crocodile skin style strap. The watch has a stainless steel watch case. The watch comes with its original tags and warranty in its original box. The watch is water resistant up to 30m. Condition of the Anthony James watch: The watch and leather strap are in very good condition. Very little wear. The box has a little wear inside. Requires a new battery. The Guess Men's Multi Dial Quart watch has a black leather strap. The dial is black and red in colour with silver coloured numbers and a rotating bezel. At the back of the stainless steel case there is the model number : W10602G1. Water resistant up to 50 metres. Condition of the Guess watch: The watch and leather strap are in very good condition. Very little wear. The watch is in good working order. The watch comes with its black leatherette original box. The watch box has wear to it near the opening.

The candelabra in good condition with signs of previously having being silver plated - now mostly gone. The writing box in need of some restoration to the inside. The officer's dress sword with severe oxidisation to the scabbard, further marks and damages overall to the guard and fish skin grip etc. The bookstand in poor condition.
