Quilted lining to the interior and brown leather sweatband with cushioned forehead section. Cap remains in very good overall condition.
Notts & Derby Regiment Officers Service Dress Peaked Cap, of khaki cloth with officers bronze cap badge. Brown leather chinstrap supported by general service side buttons. Interior retains the original sweatband. Accompanied by a Royal Signals regiment officers coloured field service cap with bullion cap badge. Both have some areas of moth damage. (2 items)
WW2 Royal Engineers Officers Peaked Cap Grouping, being a fine quality officers service dress cap with George VI officers bronze cap badge, thick brown leather chinstrap supported by general service side buttons. Complete with the original leather sweatband to the interior. Accompanied by his officers brown leather Sam Browne belt and cross strap, polished wooden marching stick / batton and a selection of cloth and metal insignia.
Bedfordshire Regiment Officers Dress Uniform, tunic of scarlet cloth with white facings to the collar and cuffs. Gilt tress decoration to the collar with officers silver gilt collar badges. Cuffs have golf wire tress decoration. Eight officers gilt metal tunic buttons to the front. Twist cord officers shoulder boards with two bullion rank pips to each (one pip loose). Quilted lining to the interior of the tunic with Hobson & Sons tailors label and inked name “ Lieut W A Duke 187(5?)”. Tunic suffers from some scattered moth tracking and damage. Tunic accompanied by a pair of officers dress trousers with central red stripe to the leg and two officers crimson dress sash belts. (4 items)
Imperial German 1st Wurttemberg Uhlan Regiment No19 Ulanka, dark navy blue cloth plastron front tunic with plain white metal circular buttons. Red removable button on parade “Rabatte”. Single collar litzen with circular button with coat of arms of the state of Wurttemberg. Dress shoulder boards with gilt monogram to the centre, worn above musicians shoulder nests. Interior of the tunic has various regimental issue stampings. Complete with its original blue and red cloth belt. The set remains in very good overall condition and displays well.
George VI Grenadier Guards Dress Tunic of red scarlet cloth with dark blue facings, white grenades to collar, and cuff decoration. Shoulder boards with embroidered insignia to the centre, bullion Lewis Gunners qualification badge to the sleeve and brass regimental tunic buttons (2 missing). Blanket lining to the interior which shows just light service wear.
Royal Tank Regiment Officers No1 Dress Tunic, blue cloth four pocket tunic with fine quality officers silver gilt regimental collar badges, brass RTR buttons to the front, cuffs and pockets, bullion tank arm badge and single metal rank pip to removable shoulder boards. Hawkes & Co tailors label to the interior. Remains in good condition.
Historically and Regimentally Important WW2 Service Dress Tunic Attributed to Colonel Leslie Reginald Hulls Military Cross & Bar, Gordon Highlanders, The Only British Soldiers To Escape From Being Prisoner of War in Both First and Second World Wars, khaki doublet service dress tunic with officers Gordon Highlanders regimental tunic buttons, red gorget collar patches, rank insignia to the shoulders, above the breast pocket is medal ribbons of Military Cross with rosette, 1914 star, British 1914-18 war medal, Allied Victory medal with MID oak leaf, 1939-45 star and three foreign orders. Tailors label to the inside of the collar with inked name. Tunic shows some service wear and medal ribbons have frayed. First enlisted in the 14th London Regiment in 1914 before being promoted to Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion of the Gordon Highlanders and then later into the Machine Gun Corps. He also had a short commission in the Royal Naval Vounteer Reserve as a Sub Lieutenant with the Armoured Car Squadrons in North Russia. He was captured by the Turkish forces and escaped at Djongy, then being imprisoned by the Georgians at Tiflis. Became the British Military Liaison officer to the Georgian government at Tiflis. At the outbreak of WW2, he was called up and served as an Intelligence officer with 153rd Brigade, 51st Highland Division. He was again captured in May 1940 St Valery-en-Caux, France but escaped from captivity along with Commander Elkins Royal Navy, they sailed from Lion-sur-Mere on 23rd/24th June 1940. He served as Liaison officer, No30 and No26 British Military Missions in Russia (July 1941-April1943). He was Military Assistant to General Anders, Commander in Chief of the Polish Army in the East (April – August 1943), Civil Affairs Staff School, Cairo (September 1943-early 1944); as Director, Italian Refugee Branch, Allied Control Commission (1944-45); as Director of North German Oil Control and subsequently Oil Branch, Control Commission, British and US zones of Germany, 1945-49.
WW2 Brigadier Staff Officers Service Dress Tunic, being four pocket example with red gorget patches to the collar, medal ribbons including the Military Cross to the breast. Gilt metal rank insignia to the shoulders and officers buttons to the front and pockets. Tailors label to the inside with inked name, but this is not clear. Accompanied by a non-associated pair of officers breeches of similar period. (2 items)
British Red Cross Order of St John Service Dress Tunic, unusual khaki four pocket service dress tunic with rank braid to the cuffs, bronze collar badges, twist cord shoulder boards, medal ribbons for the Order of St John and WW1 service and brass tunic buttons with cross to the centre. Rodgers & Company tailors label to the collar. Good overall condition.
WW2 Mechanised Transport Corps Tunics, consisting of two officers four pocket service dress tunics, both retaining the original MTC embroidered shoulder titles. One tunic with brass general service buttons and the other has pressed leather football type buttons. Both tunics show evidence of wear other insignia has once been present. Accompanying the tunics is a selection of paperwork and photographs both pre-war and wartime and an embroidered yellow on blue cloth uniform badge. Tunics show some wear but generally good overall condition. (small quantity, viewing recommended)
WW2 18th Infantry Division Royal Signals Battle Dress Blouse, being a good used example with embroidered Royal Signals shoulder titles with printed 18th Infantry Division formation signs underneath and embroidered Royal Signals arm of service strips. Blue backed rank pips to the shoulders. Remains of the ink manufactures stamp to the inside. Two period repairs but otherwise a good example.
Third Reich Erased Rohm SA Dress Dagger, brown polished wooden grip with eagle and SA devices inserted. Original early pattern scabbard. Reverse bottom cross guard stamped Nm. Blade with Alles fur Deutschland motto to one side, the other side has had the early Rohm inscription removed along with the makers trade mark, just minimal amount can still be seen. Scabbard has some dents and the lower scabbard fitting is dented and cracked.
