A 2ND LIFE GUARDS OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD BY PROSSER, 83.5cm blade finely etched with a crowned flaming grenade over regimental devices, laurel wreaths and a maker's panel to either side, regulation four-bar brass hilt decorated with scrolling foliage and flaming grenades, wire bound fishskin grip, some losses, contained in its steel scabbard with single suspension ring.
A 1796 PATTERN HEAVY CAVALRY OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD, 80cm flattened diamond section blade with short central fuller, regulation copper hilt with boat shell guard, D-shaped knuckle bow, ovoid pommel, ribbed wooden grip, contained in its steel scabbard. Guard loose. While all the characteristics of this pattern of sword are present, there is a possibility that this is in fact a general officer's sword of the same period.

Some waer to the settings of the aquamarine ring. Two of the tiny diamonds each have a tiny nick.

No depth measurement available as the there is gold solder to the shank directly below the culet.
