18th Century, English school, oil on canvas, portrait of a seated lady as a vestal virgin wearing a red and white dress and holding a book, statuary and a sacred fire to the background, unsigned, unframed, 41.5ins x 51ins CONDITION REPORT Overall in good condition, no visible damage or repairs. The painting has not been re-lined. This has not been recently restored. We know that the present vendor has owned the picture for some time, but its prior history is unknown.
