Unbekannter Maler des SpätbarockDie heilige Katharina von Alexandrien. Öl auf Leinwand, doubliert, spätes 17. bis frühes 18. Jh. Unsigniert. Gerahmt. 75 x 61 cm, 84 x 69 cm (Ra). Unknown Baroque painter. Saint Catherine with angels. Oil on canvas (relined), late 17th or early 18th century. Unsigned. Framed. has been restored in 1964 (remark on renewed stretcher). The Saint is shown in dress of the Virgin with her attributes (sword, wheel and palm leaves), a couple of angels is crowning her with blossom wreaths. Catherine is one of the most admired Saints in Catholic and Protestant Church, she is called for blessing by philosophs and scholars as well as by tailors.
