Arnold, Jean and Appleby, John, 'Edmund Blampied A Catalogue Raisonne Of Etchings, Drypoints And Lithographs', Deluxe Edition, no.93/350, containing a numbered and previously unpublished Blampied etching, pub. 1996 by JAB Publishing, dark red morocco leather with gilt title to front and spine, gilt edges, with leather edged slip case. * Condition: Very good. Small split to one front corner of slip case. Line of white tape adhesive to one side of case. Small bump to one corner of book. Dirty smudge to top of front free end paper. Otherwise VG.
after Wenceslaus Hollar (Prague, 1607-England 1677), two different views of Elizabeth Castle, Jersey, a pair of copper plate etchings, c.1650, inscribed to plate, one signed and dated 1650 in plate, both 2¼ x 5 1/8in. (5.8 x 13cm.). (2) , * These important etchings are the first ever recorded graphic images of Jersey. ** Condition: - Etching with the castle centralised: Two central vertical creases. Laid down onto paper mount. Two corners very slightly clipped. Clean overall.- Etching with the castle walls to right: Paper browned but with some pale patches (possibly from earlier attempts to clean). Tiny tear to lower left corner. Laid down (glued) onto paper mount.
Edmund Blampied (British, 1886-1966), 'A Jersey Shore', drypoint etching, signed and numbered 77/100 in ink, signed and dated Nov. 1929 to foot of plate, 7 3/8 x 10 7/8in. (18.75 x 27.5cm.). * Condition: Light browning to paper at margins (joint with mount). Tiny pinprick relief imperfection to paper approx. 1cm. to left of signature. Well framed in watercolour lined mount.
Edmund Blampied (British, 1886-1966), Horse in Stable, drypoint etching, c.1951, signed in ink lower left, numbered 2/25 lower right in pencil, titled to artist's handwritten label verso, also inscribed 'Exhibited at the Royal Academy 1958, Cat. No. 1175, bought at Private View by N. Gin', 4 7/8 x 6 7/8in. (12.4 x 17.5cm.).
after Frank Brangwyn RA RWS RBA (British, 1867-1956), 'Old Hammersmith', etching, signed in pencil to margin lower right, 21½ x 27½in. (54.5 x 70cm.). * Condition: Good overall. Very slight time staining at margins from acid mount. Slight cockling to paper to centre right. Also at centre right margin, a small strip where the sepia colour is missing (the colour which is visible across the remainder of the print). In the lower left corner, and to a lesser extend to the lower right corner, the very dark areas of the print have a faint whitish bloom on them, possibly mould. In a couple of places, this has some rubs in it showing the black beneath. Probably fairly easily removed when out of frame.
after Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Italian, 1720-1778), 'Altra Veduta Degli Avanzi del Pronao del Tempio Della Concordia', etching on laid paper, 18½ x 27¾in. (47 x 70.5cm.). * Condition: Some foxing across top half of etching and two small dark stain spots in centre top area of sky. No folds or creases. Paper only very slightly time stained. No restoration or repairs. In a mid-20th century Hogarth style frame with lined mount.
An 18th century Continental large wine glass, the trumpet bowl with foliate and fruit etching within a foliate reserve, on spiral fluted stem, to fold over foot with pontil, 18.8cm. high. * Condition: Sulphur spot to edge of base from the making. Crescent shaped opaque flaw to top of foot from the making when pontil cut. No chips or cracks.
