Des Waereld doen en doolen, Is maar een Mallemoolen, fom the series Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid, [1720-1721], etching on two conjoined sheets of laid paper, a closed tear to both left and right margins, not affecting image (the left hand side repaired to verso), plate size 31.5 x 44 cm, sheet size 39 x 47 cm, hinge-mounted in modern card window-mountQty: (2)NOTESThe second work is a satire on the financial crisis of 1720 (more commonly known in England as the South Sea Bubble), which had serious repercussions in England, France, Holland, and elsewhere across Europe. The poem in Dutch in four columns below the image is signed 'Philadelphus', nom de plume of Gysbert Tyssens (1693-1732), who also wrote six plays concerning the Wind Trade.
Victorian 1831 Pattern Royal Navy Officer's Sword 30 inch, single edged, slightly curved blade with large fuller. Traces of foliage and crowned anchor etching. Brass guard with Victorian crowned anchor cartouche and folding rear section. Quillon absent. Brass lion mask pommel and backstrap. Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding. Now contained in a steel scabbard with two loose hanging rings.
1897 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword 33 inch, single edged blade with large fuller. Foliage etching and field gun. Together with owner's intertwined initials. The forte with maker Hobson & Son London. White metal, foliage scroll, pierced guard with GRV cypher. White metal, checkered backstrap. Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its leather covered, field scabbard.
Rare Springfield Arms Warner Belt Model Percussion Revolver 31 cal, 5 inch barrel with white metal stud foresight. Six shot percussion cylinder with scroll foliage etching. Top frame flat with floral engraving and maker Springfield Arms Co. Steel body, grip frame and trigger guard with scroll foliage engraving. Offset percussion hammer with foliage engraving. Polished wooden slab grips. According to various records, only approx 100 of this pattern were made.
Imperial German M1871 Dress Bayonet Sidearm 19 1/4 inch, single edged, narrow blade. Traces of foliage scroll etching. The forte with maker W.K & C with trade mark. White metal muzzle ring with downswept quillon. Turn up quillon crossguard. Brass grip with bird beak pommel. One side with grooved panel. False spring absent. Blade with minor pitting.

Two Chinese Qingbai bowls, Song dynasty, the first incised with foliage to the interior, the second with a flower to the underside, both with unglazed rims, 17.7 and 17.8cmCONDITION: Both with crazing to the glaze all over. The first with some etching to the glaze and the second with remnants of metal and earth to the unglazed rim.
