Condition report: Reduced margins but still outside platemark slight surface dirt and very minor wear to lower right corner under glass.

Gerald Leslie Brockhurst Charles Claude Carpenter etching 300 x 225mm. final state of 4 signed and dated 1931 in reverse in the plate below the subject lower right signed in pencil lower right 1 of 70 impressions [1931] *** Charles Claude Carpenter (1858-1938) was a collector of sculpture books and prints and privately commissioned this etching. Allegedly he had commissioned a nude sculpture of Dorette the young model who was to become Brockhurst`s second wife. Although the sculpture remained unfinished Brockhurst included it on the bookcase in the background in this portrait. Carpenter was some time President of the South Metropolitan Gas Company. Although there were eighty impressions of this plate in all (including proofs) only twenty were ever offered for sale Carpenter retaining the balance with their fate unknown.
Gerald Leslie Brockhurst Earl of Crawford and Balc etching 205 x 150mm. on laid paper 4th state of 4 signed in reverse in the plate upper right dated in the plate 1923 lower centre signed in pencil lower right 1 of 40 impressions [1923] *** The sitter Sir David Alexander Edward Lindsay 27th Earl of Crawford 1871-1940 was amongst many public positions Chancellor of Manchester University from 1923 the date of this etching. This is one of only thirteen etchings by Brockhurst of male sitters.
Anders Zorn Vicke; Djos Mats 2 etched portraits 195 x 290mm. 160 x 120mm. respectively both signed in pencil lower right slight browning each hinged into mounts [A281; A243]; Mme Simon published in Pan etching 235 x 160mm. letterpress caption in lower margin hinged into mount [A67] early 20th century (3)
