The cartoon shows Dr Perkins applying his invention to the boils on the nose of a citizen possibly intended to represent John Bull. The lean detached physician is contrasted with the stout and highly distressed patient undergoing 'therapy'. The second item shows five gluttonous Germans dining enthusiastically at Weyler's in Castle Street in Leicester Square. Weyler was born in Vienna and at his establishment sauerkraut and sausages were always to be had.

The Old Masters appear generally fair-good, some light markings and wear, folds and creases. The David Roberts good.

A 1796 pattern infantry officer's sword. Brass fold down guard, knuckle guard and pommel. Wooden handle that would of formally had a wire binding around it. Steel single edged blade, with fuller to both sides and flat spine. No visible makers marks or blade etching. Approximately: 96cm length. Condition: generally poor. One part of the brass guard is missing, and also the wire binding to the handle. The blade has darkened and is quite heavily pitted.

An 1897 pattern infantry officers sword by Fenton Brothers Ltd, Sheffield. Pierced nickel plated steel guard, with crown and cypher of George V. Shagreen grip with wire binding, chequered backpiece and knopped pommel. Leather washer at ricasso, steel blade with deep fuller to both sides. Etched George V cypher, crown and royal coat of arms to both sides of blade. Proof mark and makers mark near the ricasso. Complete with leather covered field scabbard. Approximately 103cm in scabbard. Condition: sword is very good, but the scabbard is at fault. Nickel plating to guard is mostly intact and show minimal service wear. The blade is clean and bright with very clear etching. The scabbard is split to the wood, and there is leather missing to the last third portion of the scabbard.

An 1821 pattern light cavalry officers sword by Pulford & Co, London. Shagreen grip with wire binding, chequered pommel and 3 bar steel guard. Single edged slightly curved blade with flat spine, short section near tip becoming double edged. Leather washer at the ricasso, plus proof mark and and makers mark. Profusely etched decoration, and the VR monogram and crown to both sides. One side also has a family crest and what appears to be initials GMC. Complete with original leather sword knot, and black painted scabbard with two suspension rings. Approximately 101cm in scabbard - blade length 81cm. Condition: generally good, with service wear. Shagreen grips intact, but loss of wire binding to part of the grip. The steel parts of the guard have darkened over time, and there is some mottling and darker patches here and there. The blade is in good order, with similar areas of mottling and darkening. The etching has rubbed in places, resulting in a loss of detail. Scabbard shows a small dent to one side, and normal areas of paint loss. Leather sword knot has some surface cracking in places, but remains supple.
