A Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Regiment infantry officer's dress sword, the tapered blade with etched foliate decoration and VR (probably) cipher (heavily worn), blade length 79cm, to shaped brass guard with crest in relief, rounded pommel and further foliate detail, wirework grip, in brass mounted leather scabbard (scabbard af).Additional InformationBlade is heavily pitted, also with some surface corrosion such that a lot of the etching and the royal ciphers are indistinct, further heavy wear to the hilt, scratches, nicks, discolouration etc, wirework to the grip appears a later replacement or addition, scabbard is in two parts split all the way down the back, brass mount loose.
