Victorian silver mounted claret jug in the form of a crocodile, with etched glass scaled body and detachable silver head and pouring tongue by Alexander Crichton (London 1882), 42.5cm overall length CONDITION REPORT General overall condition very good. Silver mounts are excellent - no visible signs of damage or repair. Neck and detachable head marked. Glass body is a replacement. Tiny scratch on top of right leg and underside has some surface damage. Top of left rear foot has a small area of rough protruding glass from manufacture. Underside of tail has some marking to surface and there is a small blemish to top of tail where it joins body. Front left foot has some minor surface damage. Main body is good, no major chipping or scratching, there is a bubble in glass above front left leg and skin pattern etching near back of head has been incised twice. Underside of rear feet have areas where glass is not polished. Tip of tail may have been removed
William Lionel Wyllie (1851 - 1931), signed etching - Yachts racing, Cowes, in glazed frame, 18cm x 39cm CONDITION REPORT Glazed frame and not examined out of the frame. There is some minor staining where the mount meets the paper and a few minor fox marks. Otherwise the etching is in good order, the mount is discoloured in places, framing looks to be original, with some wear. Overall condition generally good
Henry George Rushbury (1889 - 1968), signed etching - Continental town, two other signed etchings, pen and ink drawing and a William Orpen etching, all unframed CONDITION REPORT The Orpen has staining to the paper and a mark top right, also some foxing to the margin. Rushbury in good condition, not laid down, very light mark around the edge where the mount meets it. Just attached in 2 places on the top edge
