Elisabeth Frink (1930-1993) Etching and aquatint in colours Rolling over horse, 1980, numbered 34/75, signed lower right in pencil, 59cm x 72cm Condition Report In good condition, the picture is in very good condition, the frame has some wear. There is a small indented line or crease near the tail of the horse, but this is not a tear and is visible only on close inspection.

James Cavanah Murphy (1760-1814), Irish architect and traveler, born in Blackrock (Cork), was in Portugal during the years 1789 and 1790, in the service of William Burton Conyngham, with the mission of studying and designing the architecture of the Monastery of Batalha. The work includes the following typed texts: Preface (II p.); Introduction (p. 1 to 26); A history and description of the Royal Monastery of Batallha... / by Father Luis de Sousa ([2], p. 27 to 61, [1] p.); List of subscribers [2 p., at the end]. The 27 engravings include: an architectural title (page), the dedication to William Conyngham and 25 engravings, with the survey, five after the introduction and the rest at the end of the volume (two on double sheets). Complete copy, according to the bibliography and engraving index, with some handling and foxing. Heraldic (scaquistic) ex-libris by A. Ramel. Half-leather binding, contemporary, worn. Pat JOHNSTONE (1944-2023) Ten works, including coloured etchings and woodblock prints. Having grown up in the Lizard and having spent time in Zambia, she settled in Cornwall where she developed her love of different mediums and styles together with sculpture and pottery. She studied at Falmouth Art College and attended workshops with various artists around the country such as John Maltby. She was a prolific producer of art which reflected her passion of colour and form with cats and animals being a great source of inspiration.
