William Walcot (1874-1943) "The Temple", a towering study of the exterior of an Indian or Egyptian temple with a procession exiting its gates, led by two figures wielding a banner and followed closely by lavishly adorned elephants, dry-point etching, signed, titled on label verso, in card mount and ebonised frame under glass, 72 cm x 83 cm overall [Walcot was a painter and printmaker celebrated for his architectural studies during the 1920s and 30s. He exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts and Royal Institute of British Architects.]
