JAMES ABBOT MCNEILL WHISTLER (1834-1903); etching, Chelsea Bridge, monogrammed in plate, 15 x 22cm, framed and glazed.Additional InformationThe mount is browned throughout and the edge of the paper of the etching may be slightly toned, a couple of slight foxing spots along the bottom edge, the back board with Fine Art Trade Guild label and heavy old worm damage to the wooden panel, the worm damage does not appear to have come through the paper however it has come through once in the mount.

After H RogersThe desiccated corpse of a boy, about twelve years old, found in a vault under Saint Botolph's Aldgate old Church in 1742etching, signed in plate32.5 x 20.5cm;Lettering reads: This print is an exact representation of a boy about 12 years old who was found erect with his cloaths on in a vault under Saint Botolph's Aldgate Old Church in the year 1742, and is supposed to have been shut in at the time of the plague in London 1665, as the vault had not been open'd from that period till the time above mentioned when the church was pull'd down. The extraordinary circumstance of this boy is that his skin, fibres, & intestines are all dried & very little of his bones appears, and weighs about 18 pounds. He is in the possession of Mr. J. Rogers, No. 2 Maiden Lane Wood Street, London.
