A career in advertising followed but in the early 1970s he followed his heart and set up the Penn Print Room, publishing the works of revivalist print-making masters like Robin Tanner. He had an unerring eye for quality and the prints offered here from his collection are all beautifully etched by master craftsmen.

Over the years, the cards served as an important archive detailing Hayter’s artistic concerns and practices.
