(Jersey, 1886-1966), Work in the Fields, drypoint etching on wove paper, signed 'Blampied' in pencil lower left, signed and dated 1915 in plate, from an edition of sixty-five, 8¾ x 11¼in. (22 x 28.4cm.), laid down; together with 'Edmund Blampied, A Biography of the Artist 1886-1966' by Marguerite Syvret, pub. Robin Garton Ltd. for Societe Jersiaise 1986. (2), *Condition: Examined out of frame. Heavy mount burn to entire top margin outside plate and some time staining to paper inside the plate within upper and lower margins. Lighter time staining to centre of plate. A few minor fox marks. Laid down onto card.

(Jersey, 1886-1966), Backing the Hay Cart, drypoint etching on wove paper, signed 'Blampied' in plate lower right, further signed 'E Blampied' in pencil outside plate to lower left, from an edition of thirty-eight, 4 x 5 7/16in. (10.2 x 13.8cm.)., *Condition: Examined out of frame. Laid down onto card. Paper lightly and evenly time stained. Some large fox marks just outside the plate margin and a few others to outer margins. Some dirt to surface of paper, mainly to upper and left halves of etching.

Edmund Blampied, R.E. (Jersey, 1886-1966), Driving Home in the Rain, drypoint etching on laid paper, signed 'Blampied' in pencil lower left, from an edition of forty, 7 3/8 x 10 1/8in. (18.75 x 25.7cm.), at fault., * This is widely considered to be Blampied's finest work in etching., *Condition: Poor to fair condition overall, ideally requiring conservation and restoration. Has been removed from frame for close examination. The paper is cockled, more notably to the upper margin within the plate, with the paper splitting in places to the left half of the upper margin. There is some foxing in places, modest time staining to the paper and mount burn. There are twelve insect holes to the paper - seven outside the plate to the margins, two to the lower left corner (one just outside the plate margin and another larger (2 x 3mm.) inside the plate) and the other two are small - one just below the front horse hoof and one near top centre.

A scarce, or possibly unrecorded, Georgian Valentine's Day publication: Cupid's Telegraph, A New and Fashionable Valentine Writer, With Verses to and from Ladies & Gentlemen, Composed for the Amusement of that Loving Day, St. Valentine, When all the Feathered Tenants of the Air go a Courting and Build their Nests, London: Published and Sold by J. Ker, 9, Hercules Buildings, Lambeth, no date [c.1800]. Featuring grotesque caricature etching of a lady with three faces as frontispiece, inscribed by George Cruikshank in pencil, 'not by any of the Cruikshank family - G Ck'. Publisher's original stitched blue paper wrappers bearing woodcut illustration of a men begging on his knees (reminiscent of Thomas Bewick), 26 pages complete. Housed in a protective blue card wallet bearing armorial bookplate for Albert M. Cohn (author of George Cruikshank's catalogue raisoneé), and a typewritten label, 'Cupid's Telegraph. London. J.Ker. N.D. Autograph Note by G.C. that the Front is "not by any of the Cruikshank Family."' Very good, clean and bright for age, especially given the almost ephemeral nature of the publication
