Warner. Initial production started at the site of the Ames Manufacturing Company, since James Ames also was amongst the founders and served as Chairman of the board of directors. Based on a design by Edwin Wesson and Thomas Warner, using the patents of Wesson and Leavitt, the built a .40 calibre "Dragoon" revolver and the light Belt model. Production ended after only one year in 1851, when Mass Arms lost a patent infringement law suit filed by Colt against their cylinder revolving mechanism when the hammer was cocked.
