An Early 20th Century Royal Indian Marine Officer's Sword, the 80 cm blade with single part fuller, etched to obverse and reverse with crowned star above fouled anchor amongst foliate scrolls, also with maker's name, ''S.W. Silver & Co., Portsmouth & London'', the gilt brass gothic hilt with folding guard, cast with fouled anchor and initialled RM, lion's head pommel with extended mane, wire bound fishskin grip, gilt thread bullion knot, brass-mounted black leather scabbard with twin ring suspension, soft leather cloth case Blade heavily cleaned with residual patches of rust and pitting. Etching worn in places and almost erased in others. Bullion knot tatty. Scabbard heavily refurbished. Soft case worn.

The etching is very faint

A Victorian 1827 Pattern Rifle Regiment Sword, the straight, single edge, fullered blade, length 82 cm, indistinctly bearing maker's name and with faint etching, the steel gothic hilt incorporating the regimental crest, wire bound fishskin grip, bullion thread dress knot, steel scabbard with twin ring suspensionsSword blade with heavy overall pitting obscuring much of etching. Hilt in similar condition. Wear to fishskin grip and some wire binding loose. Bullion knot tatty. Scabbard heavily pitted and with numerous bruises and small dents.
