East Indian Company 1828 Addiscombe College Sword of Honour. Presented to later Major John Nixon Sharp Bengal Engineers served at the battle of Maharajpoor 1843 and died in India 1856. An example of the 1822 pattern Infantry sword with a piped back blade and three quarter length etched decoration, this incorporating the crest of the East India Company and presentation script "CADET JOHN NIXON SHARP. THIS SWORD PRESENTED TO HIM AT THE PUBLIC EXAMINATION ON THE 12TH DEC 1828 BY THE HONble COURT OF DIRECTORS OF THE UNITED EAST INDIA COMPANY AS A MARK OF THE COURTS APPRECIATION OF HIS GENERAL GOOD CONDUCT WHILE IN THE COMPANY'S MILITARY SEMINARY". The forte with the cutler's details of Bond of London. The fire gilt guard with the crest of the East India Company and the shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with steel scabbard. Etching to the blade clear, gilt bright. Major John Nixon Sharp was born in 1811 and attended Addiscombe College between 1827-28, he also attended the Chatham Engineers school. Commissioned to Ensign he entered the Bengal Army in December 1828, arriving in India 1830. He took part in the Gwalior campaign and was awarded the Maharajpoor Star. Promoted Major 1854, two years later on the 17th August 1856 he died of Cholera at Mian Meer. PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER ONLY

PRESENTED BY THE NON COMMISSIONED OFFICERS OF No VI COMPY W.R.V. BIRMINGHAM BATTALION TO CAPT GEO. A EVERITT JUNE 2ND 1860. Also etched with a crowned reverse entwined VR cypher and cutlers details of Robert Mole Birmingham. Complete with original scabbard. WW2 Important "Lord Lovat" 4 Commando Fighting Knife. An extremely rare example. Ron Flook in his excellent book "British and Commonwealth Military Knives" states he believes only 5 examples are known. 6 inch, narrow spear point, double edged blade. Cutler's device of "Wilkinson Sword & Co London" to the forte. The all alloy hilt retains most of its original blackened finish to the crossguard and now only traces to the grip. ... Accompanied by a dark brown, hand stitched leather scabbard, with leather and open pattern press stud retaining strap. Knife does not fully fit in scabbard. Knife remains in good clean condition. This pattern of fighting knife is commonly referred to as probably the rarest of the WW2 British fighting knives. Purchased by Lord Lovat in small numbers from Wilkinson and presented to his Officer?s of 4 Commando as a Christmas gift. The logo as stated in "British and Commonwealth Military Knives" was confirmed by Wilkinson, the logo is from their etching plate used in the 1930's and early 1940's, which would confirm the Lord Lovat story. Lion mask pommel and backstrap. Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its leather scabbard with ornate gilt mounts, all with central oak leaf bands. Victorian Montgomeryshire Yeomanry Presentation Officers Sword. A superb example of a mid Victorian presentation sword given to Captain Edmond Peel of the Newtown troop. The 36 inch, straight spear point blade with etched decoration depicting St.George and the Dragon, classical ladies and floral decoration. The pierced gilt guard, incorporates a Druid?s head surrounded by floral decoration. This encloses a shagreen grip with a gilt ram's head pommel. The steel scabbard with embossed mounts of a Cavalry helmet and bugle. The steel is engraved with a presentation PRESENTED TO CAPTAIN EDMOND PEEL BY THE MEMBERS OF THE NEWTOWN TROOP OF THE MONTGOMERYSHIRE YEOMANRY CAVALRY IN HONOUR OF THE OCCASION OF THE BIRTH OF A SON AND HEIR 1ST MARCH 1872. The overall condition is near VGC, gilt bright, etching clear. Some age wear to the steel of the scabbard presentation script faint to parts. British Cavalry Officer's Mameluke Hilted Sword. A good quality, early 19th century example, with a curved, fullered, 73 cm blade. This with 1/2 length etched decoration incorporating Trophies of Arms. The hilt with an ornate floral embossed, fire gilt cross guard with flower bud ends. 1847 Presentation Sword From the King of Hanover to the Duke of Beaufort An impressive Light Cavalry style sword, with a 81 cm piped back blade, with an etched presentation script "THE GIFT OF ERNEST AUGUSTUS KING OF HANOVER TO HENRY 7TH DUKE OF BEAUFORT KG 30TH OCTOBER 1847" to each side. The hilt with a gilt, single bar guard, lion head pommel and shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with original steel ring, with two loose rings. Blade near VGC etching clear. Ernest Augustus was King of Hanover and was the fifth son of King George III. Major Henry Somerset, 7th Duke of Beaufort, KG had served with both the 14th Light Dragoons and the 10th Hussars. He also served as ADC to the Duke of Wellington during the campaigns in Portugal and Spain between 1812 and 1814. He died age 61 in 1853 PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER ONLY
