Playing cards.- Rowlandson (Thomas, 1756-1827) How to pluck a goose, etching with hand-colouring on wove paper, platemark 255 x 320 mm. (10 x 12 1/2 in), sheet 267 x 408 mm. (10 1/2 x 16 in), publisher's details and date have been scraped form the sheet, otherwise minor handling creases to margins, some light spotting and browning, [originally published by Thomas Williamson, 1802].Literature:Grego II 36, 397⁂ The British Museum does not appear to hold a copy, but one can be found in The Met, New York.

An 1828 Pattern Scottish Basket Hilt Broadsword by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, the 89cm double edge steel blade with later silver plating, bearing traces of etching and maker's mark, the back edge numbered 34313, with HW poincon, the nickel-plated hilt with wire bound fishskin grip, cushion fluted pommel with remains of red tassel, with scarlet baize and buckskin liner, the plated scabbard with twin ring suspensions, 108.5cm. The later silver plating to the blade has partially obscured the etched decoration and the maker's mark, there is slight wear in parts. Otherwise good.
A First Pattern Fairburn Sykes ''F-S'' Fighting Knife by Wilkinson Sword Ltd., the 18cm double edge steel blade with raised medial ridge to each side, each side of the ricasso with a recessed panel, one side faintly etched with maker's name, the opposing side etched THE F~S FIGHTING KNIFE, with nickel plated brass recurving crossguard and diamond cut grip, lacks scabbard . Blade with overall rusting and pitting. Plated crossguard with slight flaking. Plated grip with some flaking and rusting. Scabbard lacking. Etching very faint.

*Barry (Claude Francis, 1883-1970). City of Carcassone-Evening Light, 1935, aquatint with etching, signed and dated lower right, plate size 44 x 50.5cm (17.25 x 20ins), framed and glazed, together with a mixed collection of engravings including Stanley Angus, Wast Water, drypoint, plus Corfe Castle, portrait on an elderly man etc (7)
*[Dodgson, Charles Lutwidge, 'Lewis Carroll']. A medley of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass characters after John Tenniel, by Ellen Whitehead, [1886], circular etching, showing a collection of named characters, including Alice, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Lobster, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, etc., toned and a few fox spots, diameter 21cm (8.25ins), mounted, framed and glazed A rare piece of Carrolliana; we know of only one other copy sold at auction (2017: Thomas Schuster Collection). The etching was used to advertise an operetta by Henry Savile Clarke, with music by Walter Slaughter, entitled 'Alice in Wonderland: A Musical Dream Play', which was performed at the Prince of Wales's Theatre in 1886: 'Shortly before the production of the play, a Miss Whitehead had drawn a very clever medley-picture, in which nearly all Tenniel's wonderful creations - the Dormouse, the White Knight, the Mad Hatter, &c. - appeared. This design was most useful as a "poster" to advertise the play.' The production was both a critical and financial success, and went on to tour the provinces. A Cutler, a pair of oils depicting old gentlemen with musical instruments, each signed and dated 1922 lower left, oil on canvas, 46 x 20cm, together with an etching of pointers on the hill signed Binks, a landscape oil, a mezzotint of a young lady and two further prints, all by different hands.
