⊕ RECLINING NUDE FROM 'LOVES OF ZEUS' signed on the mount Gmayermarton lower right; inscribed indistinctly lower left and right corners etching 32.5 x 24.5cm; 12 3/4 x 9 3/4in 50 x 37.5cm; 19 3/4 x 14 3/4in (sheet) unframed Executed circa 1923, the present print is one of six etchings that Mayer-Marton completed on the Loves of Zeus depicting Alcmene, Antiope, Danaë, Europa, Io, Leda, and Semele. Occasional surface marks to plate lower left. Creasing to top right corner of margin and some timestaining and handling marks overall, notably to right margin. Otherwise in very good original condition.

A little light surface dirt to the margins. There is a 1cm tear to the right edge, lower centre. The lower corners are a little bent and there is a diagonal crease mark to the lower left corner. Some small half moon handlings crease to the edges.
