McDowall of Edinburgh - mid-Victorian mahogany mercury wheel barometer, with a gable pediment and cavetto moulded square base, cast brass bezel enclosing a 10-inch silvered register with an engraved symmetrical pattern to the centre and barometric air pressure in inches, boxed mercury thermometer with a silvered Fahrenheit scale flanked by turned wooden pilasters, brass recording hand button, rectangular spirit level signed McDowall, Edinburgh.This barometer once formed part of the collection of Edwin Banfield, a leading authority on barometers and is illustrated in his book "BAROMETERS, Wheel or banjo", page 100. Note: We have been advised that the watch is largely made up from period and later parts, some are stamped or signed Rolex but we do not believe to be from the Rolex workshopsWatch runs, chronograph functions working. Calendar function month working, day is sticking/not changing. Case generally good with modest age wear only. Frederick Daniel Hardy (1827-1911)"Hunger"Oil on canvas, 76cm by 52cmProvenance: Henry Dewhurst, Far Town Lodge, HuddersfieldChristie's, London, 19th April 1890, lot 20 as "Attributed to J D Hardy"Exhibited: Royal Academy, London, 1874, No.414Bears Christie's stencil 601C versoSurface dirt and discoloured varnish. Stretcher shadow, canvas is slightly loose on the stretcher. Push mark front to back on edge of right-hand side stretcher approx 10cm from upper edge which does not puncture the canvas. Further minor push mark directly approx 12cm below this. Odd surface scuff/abrasion, areas of varying sized stable cracquelure. Varnish has a chalky quality in places. Some general strengthening through the background and darker tones in general. Fairly fine v-shaped area of retouching to old scratch next to left-hand side edge approx 2cm in length on each line. Further vertical small patch of retouching approx 6cm below this and 1-1.5cm in length. Some general retouching and strengthening through the folds and shadows of the boys white shirt and to a lesser extent his trousers. Other further scattered small-scale touches to surface, to his shirt and hands. The lantern has possibly undergone some general strengthening.
Rolex: A Rare Stainless Steel Automatic Centre Seconds Wristwatch, signed Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, model: Turn-O-Graph, 50m=165ft, ref: 6202, 1954, automatic lever movement signed and numbered 01241, original black dial with gilt writing and outer minute track, luminous triangular, dot and baton markers, luminous Mercedes hands, screw down crown, 60-minute scale black bezel with a red triangle at 12, screw back stamped inside with maker's mark Rolex Geneva Swiss, numbered 6202 and dated I 54, Rolex stainless steel riveted oyster bracelet with later replaced clasp numbered 62523 H-18 and date letter code U3 for 1998, end links stamped 64 and 8035mm wideCase and bracelet with surface scratches, case sides with minor dents around one of the spring bar holes, bracelet clasp has been replaced, bracelet with one pin missing next to the clasp and due to this the bracelet is currentlycome apart, original bezel with small scratches and very minor dents, bezel black surface is rubbed to the outer edges, original dial finish is in good condition, gilt writing is very clear and the luminous has evenly faded in colour and has a good aged patina, hands with small staining marks and the luminous is discoloured in parts, Rolex crown with small dents, crown is screwing down on the threaded tube correctly, hand setting correctly, movement in going order.
A George II Provincial Silver Teapot, by Francis Batty, Newcastle, 1721 bullet-shaped and on collet foot, with wood handle and finial, the bayonet-mounted cover with part turned wood finial, engraved underneath 'F*F to S*F'23.5cm wide over handle, gross weight 23oz 12dwt, 735grFully marked underneath and further marked inside cover with lion passant and leopard's head. Further engraved underneath with a scratch weight 'oz23=15'. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The sides have presumably been erased and there is some fire-scale visible. There is a small solder repair at the bottom of the spout. The handle and wood finial are probably later. There is some bruising to the edges of the cover.

Heuer: A PVD Coated Chronograph Calendar Wristwatch, signed Heuer, ref: 12, circa 1978, (calibre 7734) manual wound lever movement, black dial with luminous baton markers and the "big shield" Heuer logo, date aperture at 6, two grey coloured sub dials for seconds and 30-minute register, outer tachymeter scale, tonneau shaped case with buttons in the band to operate chronograph, stainless steel screw back numbered 1240mm wideCase with very slight rubbing to the PVD coated edges in parts, case with very minor dents to some of the edges, case back with surface scratches, chronograph buttons and the winding crown with minor rubbing marks, glass with surface scratches throughout, later strap and buckle, dial is clean, hand setting correctly and winding smoothly, date changing correctly, chronograph functions are all working correctly, movement in going order.

Latter missing cab roof and both missing a number of smaller parts and both incomplete, both appear to be fitted with Portescap or similar motors. An ideal project for the P4 modeller. Fair to Good.
