A pair of Japanese Ao-Kutani two handled pear shaped vases, circa 1900, each polychrome enamelled in green, yellow, blue, iron red and gilding with scenes from Japanese mythology and birds in prunus branches within busy floral borders, the necks, shoulders and bases with stiff leaf, scale and diaper patterns and gilded panels each applied with pierced green and iron red foliate handles, enamel fuku mark to base, 14.5" high (2)

Crawhall (Joseph) Five Woodblocks, a facsimile of Izaac Walton's writing, a man and child, and a sailing ship, respectively 20 x 60mm., 20 x 50mm. and 30 x 55mm., [Q.W.p.52, bottom centre (the second) and p.57, bottom right (the third)]; with 2 others, a witch on a broomstick and a monk with jug and tankard, and a later electrotype of an angler (6). *** The Walton inscription, a tour-de-force of small-scale woodcutting, appeared in The Compleatest Angling Booke.
A circular ivory quadrant for latitude 51o 32', probably by John Browne, signed with the initials JB and Londini fecit, the instrument engraved on one side with a heart-shaped cartouche which contains on the left a Gunter-type quadrant and on the right a table of stars names and positions. Outside the quadrant is a degree scale marked Shadowes and Degrees, both arcs are radial from a small hole on the opposite side which is also centre of the quadrant. Also fixed to this side are two brass sights, which may be later additions. The second side of the instrument is engraved with a series of concentric scales including calendars, the Sun's declination and the Sun's position in the zodiac. An index for facilitation the reading of these dials is pivoted from the centre, English, circa 1660, diameter 12.7cm, thickness 0.8cm.
