A fine builder`s quality model of HMS `Bustard` scratch built by Alan Locks in 1984 to a scale of 1:32 from original plans in the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, the hull of yellow pine, bread and butter construction and painted black, with laid timber decks, fine details including anchors, windlass, 10in. RML on sliding carriage, shell racks, open bridge, ship`s boats on davits, mounted on crutches in an acrylic display case, 35in. (89cm.) long, together with an information folder about the class. (2) * Devised by Sir George Rendel of Armstrong & Co., the "Ant" class flat iron gunboats were designed as fast, easily handled defence vessels, which were able to pose a serious threat to enemy ironclads. Twenty four ships of this class were built, including HMS "Bustard". Later superceded by torpedo boats, the class were refitted to serve in WW1 with smaller guns.

NOTE: Partly designed by JL Hardy, introduced in 1954 costing £9 15shillings.
REEL: Hardy Super Silex multiplier reel, 3.5" diameter with black winding handle to raised gear housing, ivorine casting trigger knob, rim tension regulator with half moon dial scale, correct ribbed brass foot, retains virtually all original finish, with Hardy museum information tag. NOTE: Reel catalogues 1923-1952 costing 67 shillings, internally stamped “RMS, Marshall Scott Hardy reel maker 1920-1969".
REEL: Hardy Super Silex 4.25" alloy casting reel, wide drum, twin black handles, red agate bearing, ivorine casting trigger knob, rim tension regulator to half moon scale, correct ribbed brass foot, silvery lead finish, with Hardy museum information tag. NOTE: Introduced 1928 at 99 shilling 6d, discontinued in 1953, superseded by Silex Jewel.

LURES: (9) Collection of 9 early vintage metal baits incl. an unusual curved Peel style nickel Devon with twin curved fins, 2.5" body length, a 3.5" flat metal plated bait with fish scale finish to front/rear, a Herder of Plymouth early 1.5" metal Devon size 1, with glass beads and trace, a slotted Devon curved metal bait, an early curved metal minnow in Gutter Percha style and a sliding single hook bait on trace.
FLY BOX: Rare Hardy “The Roxburgh” mahogany fly reservoir, 9.5" x 8.75" x 3.5", original leather carry handle, brass non engraved plaque to lid, original lock/key, opens to reveal maker’s model and address to underside of lid, 4 x removable all original trays with polished metal clips and leather tabs, clips to base, tray 1 holding 13 x good large gut eyed salmon flies approx. 2" long plus an ivorine salmon fly scale with brass pin, numerous smaller gut eyed flies to tray 2, in superb original condition throughout.
ACCESSORIES: Early oak/brass compartment travel box, 25.5" x 12" x 4", recessed folding circular handle engraved “Edward Jones William Esquire” with inset decorative screwed brass corner hinges and crescent lever locks to front, opens to show a green baize lined compartment interior with 1 removable tray holding an early 9" loaded wooden priest with lanyard, ivorine salmon fly scale, unnamed Farlow style nickel priest, 3" alloy reel scales and modern plastic lines.
MALLOCH FISH: Rare Malloch of Perth River Tay cast salmon in glass roll front half barrel case 55" x22 x 9" makers label to top inner left of plaster base, hand painted to back, half block fish with internal legend Killed by WRDC Burnbane, Devine 2/10/25 weight 40 lbs. Minor hairline cracks to underside of jaw structure, otherwise fine fish with good strong colour and scale effect. Illus. **The “Burnbane Pool” on the River Tay is where Miss Ballantyne landed her record 64lb salmon after a reported 10-hour fight on Saturday October 7th 1922**

Sword Bayonet - USA for the Model 1847 Musketoon. Unusual central muzzle ring. Fish scale brass grips. Gladius style blade marked "N.P. AMES CABOTVILLE 1847". In its brass mounted leather scabbard. Chape and lower half of scabbard missing. Overall good condition and rare. See Watts and White No 864.
