Cab with hinged roof for access to pressure gauge, regulator and brake etc. Finished in dark green with black smoke box and red buffer beams. Boxed. VGC-Mint very minor running. Plate 1

A similar diorama, again depicting a WW1 battle scene. Entitled Over The Top, by Lee Wares. Featuring two corners of a British trench, with a number of soldiers examining a map and taking orders from an Officer. A similar number of soldiers have gone over the top and are advancing with a second Officer. Also featured are a large field gun with team, a massive tank and a British bi-plane passing overhead. The trench is detailed with substantial platforming, ladders and cryptic notices such as ‘suicide corner’. Piles of ammunition and tools abound. Measures overall 45cm x 40cm. GC-VGC. Scale approximately 1:43. Plate 2

An impressive large scale surveillance vehicle. Mounted on a WW2 military 4-wheel Bedford QL chassis cab. The body has features representing various types of listening and recording equipment to the roof and sides and has a ladder and ‘volume control’ to the rear. The chassis is equipped with a rear-mounted towing cable and hook, spare wheel, radiator blind and cab-mounted mirrors. Finished in yellow with heavy duty tyres and poseable steering to the front axle. Length 63cm x height 36cm. Plate 3

Together with 4 LGB freight wagons – tank wagon ‘Lehmann Benzin’ 94040, an LWB covered van with elevated guards compartment 46265, a Guards van with veranda 94007 and an open wagon 41060. 3 large scale hand-made model vehicles. Two from the 1920’s-30’s. A 10-wheeled transport wagon of wood construction painted in maroon with dark blue radiator, steering wheel, driver and passenger. Also a Brewery lorry and trailer, purporting to be a Dennis 6-wheeled chain lorry painted in lime green and red Bulmers Cider style livery. Complete with a barrel, steps and canvas sheet. Complete with a 4-wheeled trailer with 3 additional barrels and chain. Each with ‘Strongbow’ and ‘Autumn Gold’ cider applied bottle labels. Both vehicles of Cottage Industry style production. Also a later tinplate L.H.D. vehicle with wooden upper body construction in the old American style. Tinplate bonnet, chassis and frame, painted in blue with wood/brown painted wood upper body with tinplate wheels/tyres. Basically GC for age and style.

3 G scale passenger coaches. A W&L Pickering Coaches GWR bogie passenger coach. A narrow gauge style coach with verandas at each end in chocolate and cream livery, RN6466. 1st/3rd class passenger accommodation and an off centre guards compartment. Plus roof mounted ventilators and lamp brackets (one missing), builders plate to under frames ‘R.Y. Pickering & Co. Ltd Wishaw Glasgow’. Together with 2 BMS ‘Isle of Man’ 4-wheel 3rd class coaches. RN B1 with 3 passenger compartments and RNC2 with 2 passenger and 1 Guards compartments. Both in red and cream livery. All boxed. Contents VGC.

Lot 99

An impressive and realistic diorama depicting a WW1 battle scene. Entitled Not So Quiet On The Western Front, by Lee Wares. Providing an overview of British and German trenches and surrounding area. The British side features field guns, gunners, stocks of shells, service vehicles and a field ambulance station. The station is receiving incoming wounded on stretchers. A team of gunners is firing mortars. The British trench has platforming and ladders and several armed soldiers firing towards the German lines. Trees and shrubs form a backdrop to the British lines. In no-man’s land, together with a crashed German aircraft land are casualties, an advancing tank with British troops close to and behind the German lines. The German trench, fortified with barbed wire, is occupied by defending forces, who are endeavouring to repel the advancing British troops. Measures overall 84cm x 44cm. GC-VGC. Scale approximately 1:87. Plate 2
