A rare Worcester Flight period ogee shaped chocolate cup and saucer. With moulded double scrolling handle, scale blue ground and with gilt cartouches containing exotic birds and insects. Underglaze square seal marks, saucer 14.5cm wide. Condition report intended as a guide only.Excellent example. No chips cracks or repair. Gilding and enamels free from wear and still very bright.

* PETER WHITE (SCOTTISH b 1959 - ), A TUB oil, acrylic and wax on canvas laid down on board, signed, titled and dated 1991 verso 50cm x 56cm Framed Note: Peter White (b. 1959) is a Scottish artist known for his almost geologically-textured paintings of apparently simple subjects – a head, boat, book or bowl. Peter White elevates these hollow things into something powerful. They become vessels which contain a life-force, or a memory of the life which once existed in them. White has developed his technique over many years, now using a mixture of oil, acrylic and wax to create these works which can be monumental or the scale of personal icons. Peter White was born in Ayrshire, studied at the Edinburgh Collage of Art, and since the mid-1990s has lived and worked in the North West of Scotland.

A Wm Allchin Ltd Engineers, Northampton England, 1 1/2in scale Allchin traction engine, single cylinder to fly wheel and two speed gear box, cab fitting include regulator, water gauge, crank shaft driven feed pump, bypass valve, cylinder drawn cock lever, damper lever, reversing lever and steam pressure gauge, engine has rope pulley and chain steering. A well made model finished in green and red; no current boiler certificate is present, 26in (66cm) long x 12in (30.5cm) wide x 16¾in (42.5cm) high.'

A well engineered 3 inch scale model of the 1920s Wallis & Steevens Simplicity road roller, the engine with diagonal boiler with fittings including water gauge, pressure gauge, safety, injector, clack and other valves. Engine details include single cylinder with 1½in stroke by 1in bore, drain cocks, mechanical lubricator, reverse gear, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass, Chassis details include solid roll wheels, belly tank supporting coal tenders. The model is painted green and black, the cab with red interior, and has a brass makers plaque, 'R. L Hackett & Sons, Exeter', and a name plaque, 'Patience', last fired in 2018, no other boiler history available, 35in (89cm) long x 15½in (39.25cm) wide x 25¼in (64cm) high.

Joash Woodrow (1927-2006) ''Portrait of a Young Woman'' Pencil, 76cm by 50cm Provenance: 108 Fine Art, Harrogate Artist's Resale Rights/Droit de Suite may apply to this lot, please refer to our Terms of Business See illustration Born in Leeds in 1927 of Polish background, Woodrow initially trained at Leeds College of Art after which he served in the army as a cartographer in Egypt 1945 - 1948. Between 1950 - 1953 he studied drawing and painting at the Royal College of Art, his fellow students including Frank Auerbach, Peter Blake and the novelist Len Deighton. Shortly after graduating from The Royal College of Art Joash returned to his home in Chapel Allerton, Leeds where he continued to paint small scale landscapes and portraits. Already well aware of the broad strands of 20th century European Modernism it was the experience of the huge Picasso show at the Tate in 1960 which provided the major catalyst for the extraordinary explosion in scale and ambition that overtook his work over the next fifteen years. Lots 97-99 and 204 clearly demonstrate the the power of Picasso's influence on the artist. This fused with his upbringing in a community created through a mix of English, Jewish and Eastern European culture and the realisation that his expressive roots lay outside the British Isles are what enabled him to find his voice.Since the re-discovery of his work, and since a series of retrospective touring exhibitions, his work is now held in numerous public collections including Leeds City Art Gallery, Leeds University, Manchester Art Gallery, The Ben Uri, Liverpool University, Hull University, Liverpool Metropolitan University, Pallant House, Chichester. A highly successful exhibition was held at the Fine Art Society, London, in 2009
