Fylde dreadnought acoustic guitar, serial number 2594, with mahogany back and sides and Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, with hard case.655mm scale length.Condition report: The guitar looks to have had a headstock repair. The headstock has not come off totally but the scarf joint has become damaged and has been restuck. There are two lines either side of the neck to the soundboard, I think these are lacquer cracks as I cannot see any other signs of repair but cannot be certain. The guitar has a lot of wear and signs of age and playing. The belly has swolen behind the bridge and sunk a little in front of the bridge but still maintains a good action and is playable.

* JOE FAN RSA, DANTE AT 3AM oil on canvas, signed and dated '95 33cm x 33cm Framed Note: Joe Fan was born in Hong Kong in 1962. He came to Scotland in the late 1970’s to study Graphic Design at Aberdeen College of Commerce. He was then advised by an Aberdeen College lecturer to apply for a place at Gray's School of Art to study Fine Art. It was here that Joe met and was taught by Gordon Bryce. Following graduation in 1988, Joe won the Miller Homes Young Scottish Artist of the Year, and was sent to Paris to spend time at the Cite Internationale des Arts from 1989-1990. He returned to Aberdeen and lectured at Gray’s School of Art in Drawing and Painting from 1990-1997. During this period, Joe also spent time as a visiting lecturer at Cyprus College of Art, Paphos in 1994. In 1997, Joe gave up his role as a lecturer to pursue his own full time career as an artist. Joe continues to live and work in Aberdeen. Joe's approach to painting is quite unique. He claims to have no great purpose to his paintings, no common themes or concepts, but instead presents them as being pictorial and narrative, depicting various stories and concepts for the viewer to interpret. He is fond of playing visual tricks in his work, and often paints 'tongue-in-cheek', taking liberties with perspective and magnifying the scale of his images. Joe is a member of the Royal Scottish Academy and has won many awards and prizes, including The Gillies Award. In 2009 and 2010, he was a Prize Winner for the Aberdeen Artists' Exhibition, sponsored by Shell. In 2010, Joe won the Royal Scottish Academy's John Maxwell Travelling Award. His work is in many public and private collections including the Scottish Arts Council, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Xerox Marlow Collection, Miller Homes Art Collection, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Unilever Art Collection, and Jones Day Solicitors. His work can also be found at Soho Hotel, London; Ham Yard, London, and Crosby Street Hotel, New York (Firmdale Hotels). Joe Fan has exhibited with Thackeray Gallery, London since 1990.

In 1960, he enrolled at the Derby College of Art where he won the J. Andrew Lloyd scholarship for Landscape, enabling him to study at the Royal College of Art in London, from 1963. There, he was tutored by Carol Weight and Sir Peter Blake. He graduated in 1966 with an Associate of the Royal College of Art Degree, as well as prizes in Life Drawing, Life Painting, and Landscape Painting. His work was much admired by his contemporaries and his tutors. For the next two years, Turner was a lecturer at the Guildford School of Art; working on environmental installation projects with Australian artist Tony Underhill. He was introduced to etching by Peter Olley and Norman Ackroyd. In 1968, he was employed as an epigraphic artist and photographer by the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago. For five years, he was based at Chicago House in Luxor, Egypt making facsimile drawings of the reliefs on the walls of the Temple of Khonsu, Karnak and Medenet Habu, adjacent to the Valley of the Queens. In 1973, Turner returned to England, lecturing at Salisbury College of Art for three years, before being re-employed in Egypt by the University of Chicago, for a further four years. During this time he made full scale tracings of all columns in the Great Hypostyle Hall of Luxor Temple. In 1980 he moved to the USA; built a split-level chalet style house in Big Bear, California, and ran his own gallery, named Minnelusa Gallery, on the shores of Big Bear Lake. He also worked as a graphic designer with Treasure Chest Advertising, based in Los Angeles. Four years later, Turner returned to the United Kingdom, and briefly lived in Edinburgh before moving south for five years. He returned to Scotland in 1989, and ran a successful "art holiday" home business from Park House in Kirkcudbright, as well as lecturing part-time in various colleges and schools. In 1993, Turner met HM The Queen and Prince Philip, at the opening of Tolbooth Art Centre in Kirkcudbright. Prince Philip commented on Turner's work saying it looked "refreshingly different".
