It is possible that this refers to the same sitter although on Northcote's pricing scale a half length portrait including hands would have cost more than 20 guineas Condition: There is a strange rubbed/greyish area around the signature also some scuffing in the same area, the lady's drapes appear to have had some later work, some craquelure - **General condition consistent with age

La composizione per motivi stilistici ed esecutivi è avvicinabile alla Santa Teresa d’Avila con la visione di San Pietro di Alcantara circondato dalle virtù teologali conservata nell’abbazzia di San Martino delle Scale a Palermo1, con particolari quasi sovrapponibili come la colomba dello spirito santo circondata da una ampia rag- gera e di alcuni degli angioletti che animano la scena. Made in the 1940's case: thre body, solid, polished, curved lugs, snap on case back, olive shaped buttons chronograph Dial: matte black with Arabic numerals, subsidiary dials for the seconds and minutes. inner tachometre scale and outermost telemetre scale. Outer minutes/seconds division. Yellow gold baton hands. movement: Cal. 22 Valjoux, 17 jewels,monometallic balance, straight line lever escapement, self-compensating Breguet balance spring. Diam. 35 mm Thickness: 12,5 mm Dial, case and movement signed. Dial, case and movement in quite good condition.
