A rare late 18th /early 19th century cryptograph folding cipher machine: with fixed outer silvered dial divided into ninety sections each section with either a number, letter, word or part word, the inner revolving dial with rack and pinion lever wind divided into two scales, one numbered from ten to ninety nine, the inner scale divided into tenths from ten to ninety, with polished steel winding handle to the side, mounted in a red morocco leather case. 19cm. diameter.
A William IV mahogany bracket clock: the eight-day duration, double-fusee movement striking the hours on a bell (bell missing) with shouldered plates, the seven-inch painted round dial having black Roman numerals, blued steel trefoil hands and a cast brass bezel, the mahogany case having a shaped inset panel to the front with brass surround, flat tapered columns with brass stringing, carved scroll and floral decoration across the top of the case, with a round pagoda top surmounted by a cast-brass acorn finial, with brass fish-scale frets to the case sides, with a repair label within for Willman Bros, Dublin, height 52cm. Missing bell, bell hammer and strike/silent lever.
